Question about 1985 Porsche 911

1 Answer

Engine stalls and loses power during acceleration.

1985 Porsche 911 Carerra 3.2, 21,500 Miles. Engine seems to "pulsate" and acts as if it is being lugged down (as if in too high a gear) when it is not. Problem is worse when engine is cold, but improves only slightly after warming up. Seems to be at its worst during a slow acceleration, but will go away completely if I stomp on it. Tuned and immaculately taken care of vehicle, but this one stumps me.

Car losing power

maybe a clogged filter.. why 2 months? it has old gas in it..gas does evaporate to a degree..looses some of its power creating capability.. the mtbe additive is an extreme evaporative.. it will evaporate out very quickly.. remember all fuel tanks have a vent tube on them..

What is the fuse number for the trunk release on a 1999 porsche carrera

I don't know what kind of 1999 carerra you are talking about; I have a 1999 carrera convertible, and both the front and engine hoods are opened when pulling on the appropriate lever next to the drivers seat. No fuse/solenoid involved.

Hello, I have lost my 2004 Porsche 911 (996) 4S carerra hand book - do you know where I could download a new manual? Thank you so much.

I found a 2003 manual pretty quick online at:
http://www.onlinefreeebooks.net/autos/car/make/porsche-brand/

Start by looking through there and you may be able to find it for free!

Good Luck, and Thank You for using FixYa!

Hi, I am considering buying a 2001 Porsche 911 C4 Carrera Cabriolet with Tiptronic and has 34,000 miles for $29K. Does anyone know if there are any major issues with these cars. Thanks, for any advice....

no major issues to my knowledge. the carerra always reminded me of a highly modified v.w. with only 34.000 miles that car is just broke in. but, before you lay down 29gs. take it for a test run over to a reputable mechanic. to have checked out. if given a clean bill of health. go for it. just give it regular maintain. and you should be good to go for another few hundred thow miles or so..good day
