Have a 1990 Buick Lesabre that will stall after you run the car for a while. However, it will not stall on short trips to the store. When it is about to stall, the rpms drop down and it feels like it is not getting any gas or power. It does start right back up again. I replaced the ignition module, and ignition coil pack before when it would start at ALL. Now I just replaced the idle control and the throttle sensor. It keeps doing the samething. So I adjusted the throttle sensor. Now it stalls repeatedly. What can I do to solve this problem?
Check ecm for part number 1228253. If it has this number in it replace it with a 16198264. Gm had trouble with that ecm for a cutting off problem. Mine would stall driving down the road and when I would put it neutral it would start back up and not have any trouble for the rest of the day. You must set the tps with a volt meter or scan tool.
You may want make sure your plugs are getting corrrect spark and have the crank shaft positioning sensor checked or looked at if you haven't already done so! my grand am did this last fall and eventually wouldn't restart unless it sat for awhile. we racked our brains trying to figure it out and the car sat all winter long only to find out that it was the crank shaft sensor (a simple $20 part for my car anyways!)
