it's located on the side of your transmission and will have a couple of wires coming out of it

Reverse lights. new bulbs still not work


Possible reverse light switch problem or relay.The switch is more common to fail. It is located on top of the transmission and the air filter box assembly will usually have to be removes for access to the switch

How to take overdrive switch out of a 92 volvo turbo


Remove glove box via 8 screws / pull out top light switch connector / Inside on left side you will find a Over Drive Relay Switch / Replace Relay switch / Re install in reverse order. Also you should hear the overdrive relay switch come on every time it is energized on or off the car. ( bench with 12 volts fed to it)

How to get at brake light swicth 94 volvo


The brake light actual sitch is down by pedal, but if you dont have any brake lights at all it is most likely the relay, this is located behind ashtray and fuse box cover, it is big red relay,marked with letter A. change it.

Yeah it's definitely the switch. Basically doesn't sense that the car's in reverse so won't turn the lights on. As far as where it's at...that I can't help you with. Volvo's tend to be a little odd...
