Question about 2003 Jaguar X-Type
My engine keeps stalling out when i come to a stop. then after about an hour my car will start up again, and only run till i stop.their is also a sharp squeaking noise comeing from the main engine block witch is where i believe the transmission is. i am not sure if the squeak is my engine, belts, trans(god i hope its not the trans) or wat it is exactly. if anyone can give me any tips i would b very thankful.
If you do not have a clue what could be the problem it may be cheaper to have a mechanic check it out. I have seen simple repairs turn into big ones when some one that does not know gets in to do the work.

First did you have a check engine light, and do you know what the code was if you did?
Ok, the traction control not available isnt goin to affect the car from starting.During my year of a jaguar tech the most common for a crank, no start is a flooded engine. Now the two most causes for a flooded engine on these jags are 1. the weather is just super cold and all the own does is keep cranking the car to try to get to start. 2. A lot of short trip, a lot of city driving, 15 mins or less.
When you get something like this, a no start crank, you have to pump the gas pedal really fast, like your starting an oil muscle car. this forces more air into the engine.
when this no start happend u could get all these codes, what i maybe would recommend is a tune up, and some highway driving every once and a while to kept this from happening again, hopefully this helps, thanks.

sounds like you have a pad rubbing on a disk/rotor, if you jolt the brakes does the noise go away? if so it's probably a pad loose

Low on fluid in the pump, if it leaking from the steering rack then it needs replacement, If theres is a squeal then the belt is loose or the pump itself is bad. If you have a bad creaking noise then the ball joints need replacement, bad ball joints can lock up the steering but the worst it can do is drop the front of the frame to the ground and which could be very dangerous when driving..
