Question about Honda Accord

1 Answer

I have a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe and the power window actually stopped working. We replaced the window motor and it worked for a little while. Then it started going up and down slowly until one day it would not move. Do you know what the problem is?

Same car, replaced regulators & switches twice! Stopped working again! It has to be the car. My neighbor has the same car & I helped her put her stuck windows up just the other day.

Looks like you are going to have to take the door apart for inspection. There is a good chance that the half moon jumped a couple of teeth and that the mechanicals between the electric motor and the scissor window raising mechanism is out of sequence. Once the door panel is taken apart, it is a rather simple task, to loosen the scissors, raising the window by hand, and re-tightening after you have shifted the whole assembly a couple of teeth. Remember not to place the window up to the exact top spot, but rather a little higher ( so that the window tries to keep going after it is fully up). This in order to insure a tight rain / road noise seal, the motor will recognize the extra load, and will stop working when the window glass is tight against the top frame.

They get sluggish over time. If you remove them, clean them, and grease them with a light grease; you can probably get them to work again. Ibet they work better when the car is funning, as the voltage is higher from the alternator as compared to the battery.
As for yhe window, you might try some window track lubrication in the tracks. The motor may also be getting tired.

2003 honda accord Power window

have the window regulator checked. If you are hearing clicking from both sides, your regulators are worn/damaged. Hopefully this helps
