Thanks dear friends for you answer

I am refering about a normal consuption it could be 20 to 25 mpg, depending where use the car highway or city. I have seen a consuption arround 15 mpg using my car in the city. I feel my car with a high acceleration, and my question is If i should change the TPS sensor?

If you have comments please let me know.

    Thanks a lot

Ok let me try to run my automobil in highway in order to know the consumption, but it is a good point about O2 Sensor.

Let me try it and update the information.

    Thanks by advance

From what you said in your clarification it sounds like the mpg for the city is right on. Starting and stopping reduces the fuel economy quite a bit in the city. The 20 to 25 mpg would be the manufacturers recommended highway mileage for freeway driving. How many miles do you have on the vehicle currently? You could spend the money and have the vehicle tested on a dyno-emission diagnostic machine where they actually run the vehicle under load to see if the emissions are within limits, and if not it could just be a O2 sensor that needs replacing. If the engine has lots of miles the O2 sensor sometimes gets plugged up and this can effect the vehicles fuel economy since it controls how the ECM computer allots fuel to the engine. Good Luck, RAC

why would u change the TPS, what diagnostic tests lead u to believe it is defective? do u have a trouble code for the TPS circuit? do u have a check engine light? I think you don't have any problem except this perception that u should be getting better fuel mileage.

tire pressure. if its to low then you will use a lot more gas.

do u have a check engine light on? if not the system is running as designed, which is optimum fuel economy.

A failed camshaft position sensor will show up in a number of ways. The worst-case scenario is that there is no spark in the combustion chamber. Other symptoms can include excessively long cranking time when starting cold, rough running on an intermittent basis, poor idle, stumbling or hesitation, a drop in mileage and stalling upon acceleration. These symptoms may also be caused by a failure in the wiring of the sensor.

if light is on get it scanned to find problem code, if it is on, could be a bad 02 sensor.

What causes high fuel consuption and what can be done to reduce fuel consuption in a RAV4

A lot of different things starting with air pressure in your tires being correct, a clean air filter, replace the fuel filter, and drive sensibly, no jack rabbit starts and try to do the speed limit. A proper tune-up can go a long way and don't drive with the check engine light on. There could be something seriously wrong with your vehicle if your check engine light is on.

Cranks but won;t start, is it the fuel pump?

number one thing to do , are you getting spark , pull a plug wire at the plug side and put the screw driver in the hole in the wire off and hold it to ground have someone crank it over a few seconds and see if you have spark , if you are getting spark then you are not getting fuel you have to ck you fuel pressure should be around 40 lbs , but some cars vary but it is pretty high you can ck online for the right pressure , also ck your air filter believe it or not I seen some cars not start because of a dirty air filter . let me know how you make out

Air Conditioning not working properly

My wife once mistakenly topped off the tank with diesel instead of gas. Same symptoms. Gas also goes bad when it sits in a tank for several months without a stabilizer. Try adding a fuel stabilizer and filling the tank with high-octane premium gas.

1988 Isuzu Trooper II LS 4dr/4wd I changed fuel pump and inline filter about month ago, it will run but only if i keep it runinning with gas peddle at high rpms, will not idle as soon as I stop with...

Hi,
That looks like air in the fuel system. Bleed the fuel system by loosening the bleeder nipple, pump the bleeder( top of the fuel filter cartridge ) remove any bubbles that comes out from the bleeder, if there are no more bubbles tighten the bleeder and start the engine.

Hope that helps you out!

Zx2 engine stalls at idle speeds

Your symptoms can be from many things however I have seen this often from stopped up fuel filters in several different cars.
It could also be from very bad gas.
My suggestion is that if the car has high mileage OR you have recently goten gas from an unfamiliar service station, you shoudo change the fuel filter and put some good fuel additive in (after the new filter) to get rid of any water or other contaminates in the gas tank.
I recommend "SeaFoam". It is more expensive that others but has a very good reputation. It really works!

Check air filter. Has your driving habits changed? Or......It's unlikely but people do do it......gas theft. With prices high, people are taking a hose to steal gas from random vechiles. No bull. Try parking your vechile inside locked building, to see if that helps. If so, well, you got your soultion.
