Remove and discard the fuel injector retainer clips by installing EN-51097 injector retaining clip installer and spreading both sides of the clip evenly.
Always use NEW fuel injector collars supplied with injector when installing the new injector. If reinstalling the injector, it is not necessary to remove the collars unless the collars are being replaced.
Replace the injector seals as needed. Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection.
Note
Inspect the injectors to be sure that they are clean and free of debris prior to installation. Do NOT lubricate the injector seals. Rebuild the fuel injectors whenever the injector has been removed from the fuel injector rail.

Problem with fuel getting to the motor on my 2009, Dodge Avenger with 2.4L. The fuel pump is working, it's pumping fuel to the injector rail. However; it is still not starting.

Check if the injector is spraying fuel. Remove 1 spark plug and crank. There should be some fuel smell from the plug hole. Or pull out the injectors and the fuel rail and place each injector into a small bottle. if you crank for 1 minute you should see fuel collected in the bottle.
if there is none, the immobilizer maybe stopping the ECU from opening the injectors.

I have a99 Quattro a4 2.8 I just put a motor in it. it has good spark and is getting fuel.very time u try to start it. it floods the cylinder and cranks over hard remove fuel pump fuse turns over fine

Sounds like you have either a shorted fuel pump driver ground or a sticking fuel injector or injectors. Remove the injector electrical plugs and see if it still flood if it does then then one or more injectors are defective, if not then the engine wiring harness is grounded to one or more injectors or the PCM (powertrain control module) is defective. Remove the spark plugs to ID which cylinder is defective, disable the ignition system when you do this or the gas squirting out the spark plug hole can ignite (been there)

How to remove the fuel injectors on 350 cummins

only remove fuel injectors after you have properly marked all the fuel pipes for what cylinder to go to (it matters!!) also carefully bleed off high pressure fuel from lines before removing them all the way (watch your eyes!!) use only a six sided socket to remove fuel injectors or you may damage them , try to avoid using an "IMpact" gun to remove , and allways reinstall with using a torque wrench to assure proper tightness , make sure you get fuel lines back exactly on new injectors exactly as you took them off , its also a good idea to replace glow plugs if equipped at same time

Engine misfire acura 01 mdx

Check out the fuel pressure and fuel flow. There is a filter basket in the injector ,just in side the where the fuel line connects ,it can be removed with a small self taping screw , take care not to damage it. also check the injector spray and volume of fuel injected over a given time.

Got some bad gas, changed filter and plugs, one cylinder studders and fouls out plug. im thinking maybe clogged injector?

check you have pushed down the rubber boot that covers your plugs..to remove your injectors care needed .due to risk of fire. put cloths under your fuel rail.take off your battery lead.remove the bolts on the fuel rail.pull off the clips holding the injectors to your fuel rail. now pull up the rail.your injectors should lift off at the same time.they are being held on only by an O ring.so twist and pull them out.then fallow the procidure for cleaning them.or send away to be cleaned.

How to install a fuel injector on a 2002 jeep liberty 3.7

so that mean the old one is all ready removed.?
or did you mean all steps in the fsm for INJECTOR.
the steps are the same on all EFI fuel rail injectors.
you could google that or you tube it or read the FSM.

hide call keys from step 2 on, or very bad things can happen.
(wife or kids no aware of danger)
ill just cover the (basics)
1: per FSM , depressurize the system, in can be at 60PSI
parked. so avoid fuel in eyes, or a fire. we do that first.
gain access to rail under failure. (RUF) (no barking)
2: remove injector X , wire plug. (failing)
3: then detach the injector rail clamps the both rails off as one....
injector are all now loose, to pull off.
4: add new seals to new injector, and install in reverse order.

that's it, only the gain access , varies,... mostly.

last depressure steps:
run engine,
remove fuel pump relay, engine stalls. key off, hide keys
!

next tje FSM words (just the OFF section)

  1. Remove fuel tank filler tube cap.
  2. Perform Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure.
  3. Remove negative battery cable at battery.
  4. Remove air duct at throttle body air box.
  5. Remove air box at throttle body.
  6. Disconnect fuel line latch clip and fuel line at fuel rail. A special tool will be necessary for fuel line disconnection.
  7. Remove necessary vacuum lines at throttle body.
  8. Disconnect electrical connectors at all 6 fuel injectors. Push red colored slider away from injector. While pushing slider, depress tab and remove connector from injector. The factory fuel injection wiring harness is numerically tagged (INJ 1, INJ 2, etc.) for injector position identification. If harness is not tagged, note wiring location before removal.
  9. Disconnect electrical connectors at throttle body sensors.
  10. Remove 6 ignition coils.
  11. Remove 4 fuel rail mounting bolts.
  12. Gently rock and pull left side of fuel rail until fuel injectors just start to clear machined holes in cylinder head. Gently rock and pull right side of rail until injectors just start to clear cylinder head holes. Repeat this procedure (left/right) until all injectors have cleared cylinder head holes.
  13. Remove fuel rail (with injectors attached) from engine.

Fuel injector. The car seems to drop a cylinder. I replaced the plugs and it ran well for about five minutes. It then started to miss again. I think number 3 injector is bad. How do I replace one injector.

FIRST YOU NEED TO RELIEVE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE BY REMOVING FUEL FILLER CAP THEN DISCONNECT FUEL PUMP HARNESS OR UNPLUG FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT RELAY, THEN START ENGINE LET IT IDLE UNTIL DIE LACK OF FUEL.TO REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR YOU NEED TO REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH FUEL INJECTORS AS A ASSEMBLY TO REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR.YOU NEED TO TAG NUMBER ALL VACUUM HOSES AND PCV VALVE,NUMBER TAG FUEL INJECTORS WIRE CONNECTORS SO YOU CAN PUT EVERY THING BACK IN RIGHT PLACE.

Can bad fuel injector damage spark plugs on a 2005 Ford Expedition? and if fuel injectors being replaced should less labor be needed for spark plug replacement?

A bad fuel injector can cause spark plug issues. If the injector does not supply enough fuel, the cylinder(s) without enough fuel will run hot, often damaging the spark plugs.

But your mechanic needs to make sure that the injector is the issue and not a fuel pressure issue from regulator, filter, or pump. Hopefully he/she has already done those checks.

As far as the labor cost being less the spark plugs wouldn't be removed during the fuel injector replacement. Even if they did, most mechanics won't cut the price. But if you are a regular customer it can't hurt to ask.
