Place key in ign. And turns with no clicks btw off acc and start. When you turn off, goes past off to acc no clicks

Hello Ron, If your car does not crank when you turn the key, it sounds as if you have problems with the ignition switch . Or the actuating rod is disconnected.

Cant get the key to start truck or go into acc postion to remove

Sounds like a couple waffers have broken inside and 1 of them is stuck preventing the cylinder from turning. The waffer is above the shear line.

You will need to remove the bottom cover of the instrument dash to access the ignition cylinder. On the bottom of the cylinder there will be a hole. When the cylinder is in the ACC position, it will provide an opening in that hole so you can depress the lock pin. When the pin is depressed you simply pull out the ignition cylinder as a whole. Since you cannot get to ACC you will need to drill into the little hole until you reach the pin. Then you will have to drill the pin too. After that it will slide right out.

A new ignition cylinder with new keys can be picked up for about $30 on ebay. You could take the new one to a locksmith and have them rekey it to your old keys for about $30.

No power to my stearing colom 1991 ford bronco

Your 91 Bronco is equipped with a solenoid relay switch...trace your battery cables to locate this switch...on the positive side, a few inches from the battery on the inner fender...be sure all connections are tight and clean before replacing.

I was sitting at a stop light and the car died and smoke came from steering column ever thing else works light radio etc but when you turn the key there is nothing no idiot lights no miles nothing the car...

Maybe the ignition switch burned up. A lot of juice travels through them and it has happened.
What is confusing is, lights will work without the switch. You should be able to turn lights on without the key in the ignition. But a radio normally needs the ignition turned to ACC (accessory) or ON. And some when left on don't turn off with the key off until the door is opened.

Possibly the ignition melted and is affected to where the radio still gets power as if it was in the ACC position

Try spraying some penetrating oil into the key hole. If that does not help you will unfortunately have to replace the lock part of the ignition. To do this you have to strip all the cowling around the lock, insert the key and place it in the ACC position (most probably but could be another position). Look for a tongue or dowel that can be depressed so that the lock section can be pulled out of its housing.

Wipers come on when the switch is in the off postion. Also the wiper fluid will spray in the off postion.

The multifunction switch is the problem. All of the Wiper controls are in the lever. To replace this switch you need to remove the plastic cover on the Column, possibly remove the Ignition switch, and take off 2 Torx screws holding the part to the column. Be careful removing the Electric connectors from the switch as the Tabs are fragile.

The Ignition switch has a chrome decor flare on it which may hamper removal of the plastic column cover. If you can't get the cover off without removing the Keyswitch, you need to disconnect the Battery, turn the key to Acc. or Run and then poke a pin under the Keyswitch at an opening that's provided. Using your keys the Ignition core will pull straight out. Follow the above instructions.

Then reverse the process and reassemble your car.

I hope my solution is very helpful for solving your problem.

Starter on 2004 chevy trailblazer

If you can't get the key out of the ignition, it's probably the ignition switch (where the key goes in) that is bad, not the starter. The starter is on the right side under the exhaust manifold behind the right front wheel. It's not easy to change on those unless you know what you're doing.
