2001 chevy venture engine hesitating

I have a 2001 Chevy Venture and recently had the thermostat replaced, once it was done the van still starts great but now when I break at a light you can feel the van hesitating and when I'm on the highway you can feel the van hesitate and you think its going to stall but doesn't. Sometime when I put the car in park you can hear and feel the engine hesitating.

There could be several reasons for this type of problem. the engine is controled through main computer(ECM) and the sensors assocciated with it. most often times a hesitation is commonly a idle issue and that would be monitored by the TPS ( throttle position sensor) if this is beginning to fail it sends faulty reradings to the computer and the computer tries to compensate and sometimes either leans or richens the fuel air mixture cause and effect is a engine stall or a hesitation. another factor is your (O2) sensors these monitor your exaust and tell the ECM to adjust accordingly the fuel mixture also. a sure fire way to tell if one ore more sensors are faulty is to either have your check engine light come on or if there is a rough start. if the check engine light isn't on then i would think there is a timing issue involved and a tune up is in order. the tune up is simple by just changing plugs and wires, however the timing is computer controled and can only be adjusted by a certified tech with the proper equipment. try and change the plugs and wires first this is the least expensive way to solve your problem. if the problem persists then take it to a shop and have a tech hook up diagnostic tools to check the ecm for fault codes to narrow down whatsensors if any are faulty.

Why 2001 chevy venture van wont start in the cold.

Look at the ignition module or the computer. Taking off the battery cable resets the electronics. Have a diagnostic done on it to pinpoint the problem.

The heater doesn't work very well on my 2000 Chevy Venture van. I'm wondering if I should try replacing the thermostat. Or, it is all computer controlled now.

If heat gauge reads normal, stays in the middle, then you do not need to mes up with the thermostat. I own a 2000 Chevy Venture and changing the thermostat was not fan.
It may be the Temperature Control Module, which you can buy for $45 and replace without problem, or may be an partially obstructed heating core. The GM Dex-Cool antifreeze, the read one, has additives, but if you do not flush the radiator every 2 or 3 years, can result in partially clogged heater core. I have done on my car twice till now, and replaced with green Prestone, on my own risk. Hope this will help. If need more information let me know. A have the Haynes manual for Chevy Venture 2000, and I am a car dealer.

While turning the key rotate the steering wheel left and right. If there is too much tension on the parking lock the key cannot be turned.

Where is thermostat on 2001 chevy venture van with v6 engine

under the intake plenum, which will have to be removed before you can access the thermostat.
I suggest having it done by a garage mechanic.

No Heat

check your coolant level...if its too low then it will not flow through the heater core correctly to generate the heat.
