Question about 1995 Audi A6

Low-beams don't work

I have a 95 audi a6 2.8. the low-beams don't work. The high-beams, parking lights and fog lights work, but not the low-beams. i replaced the passenger side unit (the lens was cracked) and I'm waiting for the driver side to come in so i can install that. the guy i bought it from said they were working fine a week or two ago. i looked at the bulbs and the filaments seem to be fine and even replaced the passenger side bulb. what could it be? the wiring harness?

Nope - it's the combination switch (the lever-switch on the column) that turns the lights on and off. They're notorious for failure. A new one for a slightly newer car (like my 99 A4) runs $158 at ECS Tuning. Yours will be priced in that neighborhood as well. Removal of the airbag and steering wheel is required for changing it out. You can see a procedure at www.audiworld.com - click on Resources, then Tech, and choose either interior or electrical tech articles - it's in one of those areas. It's not difficult but it can be unnerving if you're working with an airbag.

GMC Envoy 2003 SLT only the parking lights and fog lights work. The low beam and high beam don't work. Please help

Well, the problem is that I dont know the reason, you should investigate. There could be issues with lamps (must get new) or electricity problems (must head to auto-service)

High beams work, parking lights work, fog lights work, but no low beams

If they are separate lights for high and low beams both may be blown if they are in the same unit it may be in the dimmer switch. or fuse if it has diff. fuses for high and low.

2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SES, the blue high beam indicator in the dash comes on with low beams, and goes off with high beams. The indicator is on at the wrong time! I have tried the following: The turn signal...

It sounds like you are confused about how your headlamp system is supposed to work. The DRL does not run on the High beam circuit, it runs on the low beam circuit. The fog lamps are supposed operate with the park lamps and also with the low beams, not the high beams. From your description, I would say that your system is operating as designed and you are having trouble telling High from Low. (Don't feel bad, that is why high beam indicators were invented in the first place.)

Lights

FROM: Lusty Kid:

Your fog lights should not work with high beam... they should work with the low beams. they are connected wrong, which probably drew too much current through the light switch burning out the contact points for the parking lights in the switch

Start by Fixing the fog light connections to work with low beams. Appears to me this was not factory installed. Aftermarket kit maybe! Then see if your parking lights work. If parking lights don't work still and everything else works, replace the light switch $50 at the dealer. The switch works the fog lamps when you pull out the knob to turn on the fog lamps when the lights are turned on. When the fogs are on you will see a little amber light to let you know your fogs are on. When you switch to high beam the fog lamps go off. Again if its not working that way, then is wired wrong. Needless to say, there should be connectors in the harness of the lights for the fog lamps. Use those if possible with the kit that you can get at the dealer, or you can splice the connector with those blue splicing clips sold at the auto part store. Make sure ground is ground when splicing and water proof the connection sith silicone and tape.

High beams wont turn on.

First place to start is with headlight switch. I did have a case many years ago when both high beams were blown out at once, but this is rare. When you have the headlight switch out, jump power from te low beams to the high beam contacts. If high beams come on, replace switch.
