How to replace driverside headlight replacement

I don't know how to replace the headlight replacement, but I can tell you how to replace the bulbs if that is what you want to know. It all depends on if your vehicle is equipped with halogen or xenon bulbs. I am posting instructions for both.

1. Turn the headlamp bulb plastic cap counterclockwise to unlock and remove it
2. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it (xenon)
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the bulb terminals (halogen)
4. Unlock the retaining springs and remove the bulb
5. Release the ignitor and remove from the plastic cap (xenon)
6. Turn the high beam lamp socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it.
Installation is the reverse order of removal.

How do i change a headlight bulb on a 2007 520d estate?

first is the headlight Xenon or normal? Xenon : The bulb is situated behind the backing cover on the light and is a clip on cover! remove this cover and the xenon bulb and module will be exposed. turn this unit anti-clock wise direction and it should come out easily. unplug the small wire and replace the bulb and or the small unit that has been removed. DON'T TOUCH THE BULB ! as this will damage it!
Normal: Remove the round cover and the bulb will be exposed !, remove wire connector and un clip the retainer spring, replace bulb!

Low beams very dim and getting dimmer. Bulbs were replaced after low beams burned out a year ago. Local mechanic now wonders if there is a voltage problem. He says he had similar problem reported with...

a bulb burns out cos it got too hot.not because it got dim.....dim lights would be dim if the voltage was low but that would be unheard of by me.....(never come across that before).most common answer would be fitting cheap bulbs to start with...they dont last as long either....

96 camry headlight dont work

Headlights are one of the most important safety features on your car, but they can only do their job if they're properly maintained. It's not just burned out headlights that cause problems; headlights that are dim or incorrectly aligned can also lead to accidents. Fortunately, learning how to repair headlights is something even the least mechanically inclined person can do. When you know how to repair headlights yourself, you can save up to several hundred dollars on mechanic's fees. Here are some tips on how to repair headlights with common problems.

Headlights that don't turn on
If you're headlights aren't working at all, the most likely cause is a burned out bulb. All you need to do to repair the headlights is replace the bulb. If you have plastic lenses, you can take out the old bulb by removing the lens and unscrewing the bulb from the back of the lens. With glass headlights, though, you'll need to replace the whole glass. Since you're buying new bulbs anyway, consider picking up one of the new, brighter types of bulbs, such as the halogen or xenon types.
When you've got your replacement bulb, install it and turn on the lights. If the headlights still don't work, it's a sign of an electrical problem. Because electrical problems are relatively complicated to repair, take your car to a mechanic before you try to do anything else with the headlights.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

The headlights are very dim. not much difference from low to high beams. What kind of bulbs are used in the headlights?

Have you checked the alignment? Park the car in front of a wall and check the lights direct generally horizontally in front of the car. It may be that they are shining up into the sky making it seem like they are dim.

Headlight bulbs can be lots of different types, xenon, halogen, but never LED. Sidelights are a lot less brighter, they can be simple argon bulbs to LEDs, or even Cold Cathode

Xenon headlight problems

there are 3 things that make the xenon in your car work the bulb, an ignitor, and a control module, you know your bulbs are ok so thats good, now you will want to swap the control modules they are a metal box attached to the headlight assembly its roughly 4"x4" you will remove the hheadlight assemblys to get to the module, there are 4 8mm bolts and then it pulls out, it the light follows the control module then thats what you will need if not you will need an ignigtor, as far as the flickering that is moet likely the module going bad, the company that makes this system is AL (automotive lighting) there is an SIB from BMW about this that says under a warr claim both control modules are to be replaced and the bulb of the faulty headlight, however i cant count the number of times i have done all that and still have to replace the ignigtor, If it is the Ign that is alot harder to swap as you have to dis assembly the entire light assembly

Bulbs frequently burning out.

The bulbs last forever on my 240s, but they don't last on my '94 850 and '98 XC70. The dash bulbs are hard to fix and the radio bulbs are soldered in. One solution is to always keep the dash lights dimmed about 30% from full brightness, and don't leave the headlights on during daylight. I keep them on but need to replace at least one headlight bulb each year. You could also check the battery voltage with a simple voltmeter just to be sure the voltage regulator is within spec. If the charging voltage is too high, the battery life might also be shortened.
