When I accelerate forward from a comp stop my car makes a loud grinding/screeching by the front driver side. Once running the noise stops but until it catches speed it makes the sound. What is that?

It could be several things, and I'm going to assume that the vehicle is front wheel drive.

First possibility is the constant velocity joint on the driver's side is worn out.

Second possibility is the wheel bearing on the driver's side.

As to the shaking at 70+mph, you may have an alignment problem, or some issues with the suspension components on that side of the car.

Does the noise get worse when accelerating from a stop, and turning, at the same time?

Could be the hub assembly or a ball joint or UV joint

When I am driving and get to about 30 MPH the whole front end of my car begins to shake. The dash board and, steering wheel. It will becomes less noticable when I get to 55 MPH. And now when I slow down...

Hello, There are a lot of moving parts in the front end. You may have a bad CV joint which is on the shaft that turns the front wheels. Each side has a similar part. There are also hub bearings which are in the hub and the hub is turned by the CV joint shaft.

The CV joint can break without tearing the rubber cover on the shaft, but if someone looks under the car at the CV shaft and sees oil or grease or a torn rubber cover on the right side CV shaft; it will confirm the diagnosis.

Once this part breaks the car will not move anymore. A broken CV joint can cause other parts to fail like the hub bearings. You can call around and price the repair or if you know someone who can do the work, price the parts.

If the shaft needs to be removed, it is behind several parts which will need to be removed first.

If the noise or clicking is worse when turning with the wheels at full lock, you need to replace the CV joints, If they are badly worn they will vibrate while being driven. Do not leave it too long, CV joints that are excessively worn have been known to disintergrate.

Warped rotors, wheel balance weight missing, dented rim, UV joint broken, wheel bearing shot.

I have a 93 ford escort wagon 73 k miles, I have had the rear seal in the trans changed twice and its still leaking. Trans fluid is clean and only seams to leak when its going down the road not sitting,...

I would think they checked your universal joints at the same time and is not taking out the seals......U would hear the uv joints clunk when placed ig gear.......I would say that the seal was damaged during the install or ruptored when the goose neck was put back into place without cleaning. Hope this helps you out.

1998 ford escort pop noise in front end when turning and breaking

you will have to put the car up and move the wheels side to side.if there is play there is a ball joint or tie rod end or stabilizer bar link that is bad.
it could also be a cv joint that is gone, look for a cracked boot or grease on the driveshaft.

Dodge Ram popping noise front left (drivers side) suspension

My father had this problem on a car years ago and I have see others have it also . The poping noise is often for a ball joint and then the wheel just falls off. Have the ball joints inspected for excessive wear
