Hi the ETS light staying on means there is a fault with the system there will be a fault code stored in the EBCM you will have to get a scan tool to retrive the code

I have an 1999 olsmobile alero that the battery light come on first and than the gas light than the vehicle slow down and can not turn the steering wheel

IF YOU TALKING ABOUT ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR.MOST OF TIME WHEN IT GOES BAD.YOUR ENGINE WILL OVER HEAT.COOLANT FAN WONT TURN ON.I SEEN A BAD COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CAUSE ENGINE STAY IN OPEN LOOP.CAUSE POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE.FUEL CONSUMPTION.

in the control panel one the right side of the car there is a reset button. all you have to do is turn the car to when all the lights are flashing and hold the reset button until the car dings.

oldsmobile went out of business back between 2000 -2003 you cant find new parts you would have to find them in a junkyard. when a vehicle company gos out of business there parts stop production also.so good luck finding your part

sounds like bad clutches in trans...tranny shop needed...takes 4 qts for a filter change and remember to check it when the vehicle is warm and in park running.
