Cracked head on 85 nissan sentra diesel

T he head has been welded and machined before.Do i risk getting it welded again or is there a after market head that would be better?

I would reccomend trying to find a good used head at a salvage yard

YES IT CAN BE WELDED UT IT NEEDS TO BE DONE AT A MACHINE SHOP THEY HAVE TO HEAT THE HEAD IN A FURNACE AND THEN WELD IT SO THE CRACK WON'T TRAVEL GET A NEW HEAD AND SAVE TIME AND MONEY GOOD LUCK

2003 nissan sentra no heat, over heating


If the engine has overheated, chances are pretty good that you now have a warped or cracked cylinder head and a blown head gasket. Those engines are very unforgiving when it comes to being overheated.

If the engine has been flushed well including the radiator and you are still getting water in the oil. The culprit is the cylinder head or the block has a crack internally allowing water into the oil.

Torque settings for cylinder head nissan sentra


Tighten in sequence to 29ft.lbs then tighten in sequence to 58ft lbs. then loosen all bolts. Then tighten in sequence to 33ft lbs. then tighten each bolt in sequence 90 degrees then tighten each bolt again 90 degrees
