Acura navigation system

Ever since it got colder outside when I start my car my radio and navigation system doesn't boot up automatically like it used to. It takes 30 min for it to come on and after works it takes 5 min to boot up. I went to the dealership they told me nothing was wrong with the navigation and it might be an electrical glitch.

Check your battery to see if its losing power on start up.
batterys always tend to start failing as the weather gets colder
most car centres like Halfords will do a free battery check for you

SOURCE: My 2010 Lexus RX350 Navigation System is responding VERY SLOW!

If Lexus can't fix this there is nothing anyone here can do for it. Anything that can be done needs the proper scanning and reprogramming equipment only Lexus has. Being that the car is new when enough people complain about this they will come up with a fix, Their may be a recall on it in the future. But for now your going to have to live with it or trade the car in. I know you did'nt want to hear this but but if some yahoo directs you wrong it will cost you hundreds just to get the programming back to the way it is today. Some navigation systems if you disconnect the battery you will have to go to the dealer to get them to reprogram it. Use lots of caution when guessing. New cars are not made for the average back yard mechanic to touch.

THERE IS USUALLY A FUSE BEHIND THE UNIT IT SELF AND CHECK YOUR FUSE BOX

IT MIGHT BE UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL CLOSER TO THE DRIVER DOOR OR UNDER THE HOOD CLOSE TO THE BATTERY OR ACROSS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE

SOURCE: When i was driving my 98 acura integra and it died

has the timing belt been verified OK. that would be the first thing to check. the oil would not make a difference, was the oil level really 1 qt over full, and did they charge you for 5 qts? if so I would want to talk to the service manger. the dealer, of all places ,should know how much oil their cars hold!. A lot of places charge for a flat fee for oil changes but will only fill it to the full mark. ( they arent ripping you off, just trying to make it easy so all oil changes are the same price)

Even if the battery is low or has weak connections, there is enough power for accessories but not enough to turn the motor over. A bad solenoid will also cause this

My 1999 acura radio is lock how do i get code?

Before you start, try opening the glove box and looking on the left side of it. To my surprise, I'm told that some time around 2000, Honda started putting a sticker with the code in the glove box (I guess someone thought radio thieves were too stupid to look there!!)

If it's not there, go to this Accura website:

https://radio-navicode.acura.com/

You will need to provide your VIN Number, Zip code, phone number and the serial number of the radio.

To figure out how you get your radio serial number, follow the instructions on this Honda site:
http://www.radio-code.com/Acura-Pay-Page-radio-code.htm

Also, what that site doesn't tell you is that if you have the non navigation model, you can simply pop out the dummy button between your fog light and rear defrost buttons with a small flat head screwdriver and with the help of a flashlight you should be able to see the serial number on the bottom of the deck through the hole.

Code for acura 1998 RL radio

Look in all the paperwork for the code. If that does not pan out, contact the dealer that originally sold this car as they may have the code stored on their computer system. Lastly.Go here: http://owners.acura.com/ Register your Acura and the follow the directions to acquire the radio code from Acura.

2005 acura tl audio/navigation system just quit working ! I was driving listening to radio one minute then the next minute it just quit. I tried a different channel, changing to XM or even the navigation...

Try this: here is how it has to be done without costing you a bunch of money - Every time the battery is disconnected this has to be done: If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. Good Luck!
