Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type
My 1998 Jaguar XJ8 has recently had the ABS warning light come on full time. The engine error code given is P1643 CAN Link Engine Control Module/Transmission Control Module Circuit/Network. Seems to be no visible problems when braking. Any suggestions please ?

I would go with the ABS module, if the shop is wrong make them fix what the real problem is for free, is this a Jag dealer?

Most likely the lock out switch at the brake pedal is at fault, because in order to put it in in to any gear you have to step on the brake first ! Their is a switch located which prevents you put it in gear with out stepping on the brake pedal, so check this switch first.

SOURCE: Amber warning lights on.
I have a 2001 xtype and the same lights came on my dash, i had it plugged up to diagnostic and it was down to a split reluctor ring on the rear wheel, this set off the abs light which in turn sets off the management light. Will cost £200, but looks quite easy to repair by self
