It's a reminder that it's time to do your maintanence(oil change, tire rotation, replace air fliter, etc..your service book will tell you what service your need to do base on the mileage). A lot of the time people just get a oil change and reset the light. The light can be reset at anytime.
With the headlight OFF push and hold the trip/reset button or stick (located in front of the gauge below the MPH speedo) , turn the ignition switch ON (II), and continue to hold the button for more than 40 seconds. If you did it right the light should go out.
THE LIGHT COMES ON TO LET YOU KNOW WHEN MAINTENENCE IS COMING DUE OTHER THAN OIL CHANGES. SUCH AS, TIRE ROTATIONS, TRANSMISSION SERVICE, ETC. ROUTINE MAINTENCE ACCORDING TO APPROXIMATED MILAGE. IT SHOULD HAVE A BUTTON ON THE DASH TO THE LEFT OF THIS LIGHT THAT CAN BE PUSHED IN WITH A PEN TO RESET. REFER TO OWNERS MANUAL FOR SCHEDULED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ACCORDING TO YOUR OVERALL MILEAGE
Look at the owners manual it will tell you how to turn it off. But before you do that check your milage with the maintance interval list located in the owners manual. The maintance light goes on when a certain milage is obtained which will describe the type of maintence is required.
the knob or wheel that turns on your dome light is the first thing I would check...the wheel or knob needs to be turned to the right all teh way until u hear a click that turns on ur dome light. That also turns on ur dash lights..or at least it should be the same button/knb or wheel that ur thumb can turn. hope this helps...Owners manual should also tell u where its at..under the category "Interior lights".
turn the key off, then hold the odometer reset button in, turn key on and keep holding, the light will flash off then on once, keep holding until light stays out, start car and all should be ok
