Appears to be on the right track. Inspected the lines but found no cracking or loose connections. The issue comes and goes. The tank does not appear to have a hole in it either. Still checking. If the solenoid sticks, it eventually closes. I thought maybe the conditiion is generating an abnormally high pressure that eventually bleeds off. Maybe the solenoid does not open when it needs to.

Stop spending money on replacement parts that are not bad to begin with. There is a vent tube off of your fuel tank that goes to a charcoal canister. This will located under the hood, typically towards the front of the vehicle. There is a solenoid that opens, and closes. Either this solenoid is stuck open, or there is a crack in the vent line that leads up to it. This will cause the low pressure in the tank, that is unless the tank happens to have a hole in it somewhere.

Service engine soon light was on and now went off? what is the problem?

Often times it is a loose gas cap. Have you refueled between the light going on and going off? You probably fixed your problem.

P0172 fault code

It could be an emmissions problem. Sometimes even the gas cap being loose can cause a code. Make sure to tighten the cap when done refuelling...you should hear repetitive clicks when its tight. Other components related to code p0172 are o2 sensor(bank 1) and catalytic converters. Hope this helps!

My 95 3L Lebaron Dies when the car is stopped. It starts then dies immediately, after many cranks with lots a gas it will run. Only happens when cold.

I'd use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, key on engine off. My info says 48 psi.
How long since over-all tune up?

SES Light comes on after we refuel vehicle, code is bad gas cap. We replaced the Gas Cap 3 Times. It still comes on after refueling.

this is not just a bad gaas cap code. it is a leak code for the evap system and will need to be tested to find leak. look underneath vehicle and check hoses on the evap canister for cracks or fallen off the canister is next to tank rectangular box. if dont find anything it will need to be "smoke" tested to find the leak

2005 chevy colorade check engine light comes on in warm weather and goes off in cool or cold weather.this has happen several times

Has this problem come shortly after refuelling? Do you live in a humid climate? 9 times out of 10 this is a result of the gas cap. Failing that, can you get your hands on a OBD 2 tool or go to your dealer and have them scan the truck. The Check Engine Light throws a code and the OBD2 tool reads that code. The code points to the problem.

Last week, being very cold out...I did not turn off the engine when I refueled my 2007 Lincoln MKX. Ever since...the check engine light has been on. I have open and reclosed the gas cap several times...and...

You should avoid a dealer and go to a local shop
to save money
You have to take in ,as you put it,anytime you get
any MIL Lamp or check lamp on the dash

Expect to have at least one a year

Your not servicing, your diagnosing trouble codes,
related to emission issues.

It could be a bad gas cap,but you don't throw
parts at it,you test first

Just bought a 2006 chevy trailblazer. the engine light kees coming on. checked and replaced 2nd cylander coil. drove 150 miles engine light came ack on

I suppose the engine code said that cylinder was not firing or faulty? I would immediately get a compression check done on the engine. It is relatively painless. My burnt valves (compression 10psi vs 150psi) could not be diagnosed any other way. Does this help?

Check Engine Light Comes on Intermittently

The P0141 code points to the O2 sensor heater circuit. It could be that there is a short in the wiring to the O2 sensor or it could be that the O2 sensor heating element itself is bad. The code is for O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. Bank 1 means its the O2 sensor connected to the exhaust pipe that runs to cylinder #1. Sensor 2 means that it is likely the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter on the same exhaust pipe.
