Is the engine light on? Check the air inlet hose between the throttle body & MAF sensor for cracks or leaks. Try unplugging the MAF & see if there is any difference

    I. would look into In to the idle air control motor it is throttle body. Try removing it and cleaning it and as well as the throttle body .carb or brake clean should do the job. I use a toothbrush for cleaning the throttle body and idle control motor.

Rpm dipping with a/c on

Most engines have a device of some sort to bump up the idle speed when A/C is on. As you don't tell us what you are working on hard to say what yours has for this purpose.

Idles roughly, then low when stopped or in park, then dies. Decreasing gas mileage. Slow to accelerate

Sometimes that's caused by a vacuum leak near the manifold area.

Sometimes air in the coolant will cause an idle problem. Air will keep the air temp sensor from sending proper info.
Hope this helps.

2004 Chevy Tahoe not idling properly, and dies. Heater also blows cold when at a low rpm.

If you have looked up the code and it tells you the vehicle is running lean and you have changed the O2 sensors, you may have a clogged fuel filter or worst yet a fuel pump that is going bad and not providing enough pressure. Take it to a repair shop and ask them to test the pressure. It is an inexpensive test that will only take a couple of minutes. If the pressure is low try replacing the filter first as it is much cheaper than replacing the fuel pump that is in the gas tank.

Symtoms of a bad timimg chain/belt...but ran real

Problem is not solved but I did change the fuel filter, coil pack,ICM and have proper fuel pressure to the motor. Car starts but dies right away. I cant seem to find out if the fob on the key ring has something to do with stopping the motor. This fob says Radio Key by Secure Key with a number 35077 stamped on this thing.. Still trying to find out what this is and does it effect the cars ability to run

When I come to a stop, the car dies. After idling for a few moments, the RPMs start dropping below 1000 and the car dies sometimes. What's my problem? I just replaced a fuel filter, and it was running...

Here are the common cause of surges, cold stalls, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Rough Idle, oil pressure tanks, kills jeep.

If your vehicle was purchased in the USA, it is against federal law for a dealer to sell it without a cat. If you are somewhere else, I have no idea what laws are. I have no idea what "cruising with the clutch" means.
Your oil pressure dropping may only show that at the same time the engine has stalled or is turning so slow that you are not making enough oil pressure. I would check the throttle position sensor, map sensor and idle air control valve for proper readings and operation, also check for minor vacuum leaks. It seems that your idle is too low and allowing the engine to stall. There are other things that can cause this besides what I mentioned but those are the main ones I'd check first. Testing can be done with a decent multi meter and using a chiltons or haynes manual as a guide.
Control systems need testing to get a proper diagnosis...That's one thing I can't do from here.
Do the testing and likely you will find the problem. Many larger parts stores will do a free code scan...that too is helpful.
Good luck

idle air speed control valve(iac),too low idle or driveline problem like play in the drive shafts. if you put it in park and give it to say2500 rpm and let go of the throttle, does it return to 900rpm?if it dips down to 5 or 600 then to 900 the iac is bad.

Engine kills when engine warm

You need to replace your IAC (idle air control valve). The IAC, like it sounds, control the idle of your car. When they go bad they will cause the low idle and stalling. The IAC is located on the throttle body and is usually held on with a couple of screws. It is an easy relatively cheap fix that you can take care of by yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
