No brakes after master cyclinder and booster replacment

I just replaced the booster and master cylinder on my 1982 toyota , I filled it with brake fluid and tried to blead the air out for 15mins by pumping the brakes with the likes cracked but I have ZERO brakes now.

To bleed the brake system open all the bleeders and let the system gravity bleed for @ 1/2 hour ensuring the master stays full. Then close all bleeders and starting furthest from the master (r/r) have someone pump the brakes 2-3 times,hold the pedal down, then open the bleeder,close the bleeder,and repeat untill there are no air bubbles and the brake fluid is running clear .Repeat for all wheels in this order R/R L/R R/F L/F ensuring master cykinder does not run empty. You cannot pump the pedal with a bleeder open you will be sucking air back into the system. Once you finish all wheels repeat to ensure there is no air remaining in system.

You need 2 people to bleed your brakes. HAVE 31 GUY PUSH DOWN SLOWLY ON THE BRAKE AND HOLD IT. HAVE 32 GUY SLOWLY CRACK OPEN THE BLEED SCREW , THEN CLOSE BLEEDER. HAVE #1 GUY RELEASE PEDAL,PAUSE A COUPLE SECONDS AND PUSH DOWN SLOWOY AGAIN. HAVE #2 GUY CRACK OPEN THE BLEED SCREW UNTIL THE AIR STOPS COMING OUT.KEEP DOING THIS UNTIL YOU GET A FULL STREAM OF FLUID.

I would suggest that you go buy one of those vacuum brake bleeders (abt $35) and bleed each one at the wheel starting with the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder. You have to crack open each bleeder and the suction will bleed each brake. Keep your master cylinder full as you do this. Hope this helps, Rick

There is a special pump used to bleed the master cylinder first then after the master cylinder is installed you bleed the brakes and fill as you go it's a two-man operation

Step by step instructions for replacing brake booster on a 1999 Toyota Camry


its my pleasure to answer your question how to replace the brake booster :
1 With the engine off, step on the brake pedal several times to relieve the brake booster of vacuum.
2 Press the brake pedal down and start the engine. Verify that the brake pedal sinks slightly. Turn off engine.
3 Remove the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
4 Remove the brake lines from the master cylinder. Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster. Plug the fittings to prevent brake fluid seepage.
5 Disconnect the brake pedal from the push rod.
6 Have an assistant hold the brake booster from inside the engine compartment. Remove the nuts that hold the brake booster to the firewall. These nuts are usually located under the dash on the interior of the firewall.
7 Remove the brake booster.
8 Install the new brake booster to the firewall. Tighten the mounting nuts.
9 Connect the push rod to the brake pedal.
10 Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster.
11 Attach the master cylinder to the new brake booster and reconnect the brake lines.
.12 Bleed the brakes at the master cylinder.

1988 dodge dakota brake problems


It's the master cylinder, Theresa. It will need replacing, because the internal seals are not holding against pressure.
It is not a job for just anybody, but somebody with some experience in bleeding the master cylinder and then bleeding the individual wheel brakes could do it. It's a procedure for getting all air out of the system after replacing parts.

I believe you're after brake booster? If so, replace both brake booster and master cylinder as an assembly, it will save you a multitude of headaches. Replace both and bleed master cylinder on car then connect brake lines.

Replace your master cylinder. It is leaking out of the back of the master cylinder and into the booster. If you unbolt the master and carefully look into the booster, chances are you will see brake fluid. Replace it, bleed the entire system, and enjoy your truck again.

you can tell if the brake booster is bad, rearly it goes bad, your master cyclinder usually go out before your brake booster will. It feel spoon-gy and while pressing down on the brake peddle holding it down you can feel the pressure bleed off with no resistance. If the brake booster is bad you have only ONE shot for braking each time; its very dangerous. Did you bleed the brake lines to release the the air out of the system when you replace the pad? whom ever did your brakes should know to bleed it. having air in the line can be dangerous as brake will not function and operates properly and can cause an accident. If you did bleed the brakes and your booster is fine then you have a master cylinder problems. master cylinder gives you a spoon-gy feel and when braking the peddle it tend to go to the floor and you have to let your foot up to build the pressure and applied the brake again to make it stop. Master Cyclinder use or rebuilt will cost you 30.00 bucks and new will be 58.00 bucks and they are easy to replace. Just make sure you have plenty of extra brake fluid to bleed all 4 brake line..I recommend you reused the brake fluid when bleeding the unit saving some money than wasting the fluid, glass jar is the best for capturing the bleed fluid with automotive smallest vacum hoses you can purchase at any auto discount store 58 cent a foot, which you only need 2 foot. good luck I hope that help some.

2002 Toyota Sequoia power brake booster % master cylinder are bad


Mr. Clark:
It would be extraordinary for a technician to recommend a booster and a master cylinder with no previous mention from you of a possible problem in this area. In other words, the technician had no business looking at the m/cyl or the booster, unless you told him that your braking was deficient.
Here is what REALLY happened: Somewhere, I'd bet, your brake light came on, and somebody "topped off" the master cylinder, to shut the light off. Now, please understand that the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir DROPS PROPORTIONALLY to the wear of the brake pads. When the tech replaced the front brake pads, he obviously had to squeeze the caliper pistons into the housings to allow the insertion of the new pads. This action forced the brake fluid from the now-compressed caliper pistons BACK into the master cylinder, and it sprayed out from under the cap, coating the cylinder and the booster. Tell that repair service that you do NOT need a booster and a master cylinder, THEY caused the problem with the fluid being everywhere. I am confident that I just saved you a significent amount of money that you do NOT need to spend. Have a great day.
