I just replaced the fuel pump in my truck, but I am still having issues. It appears as though something is causing the pump to shut off time and again for no reason, before staring up again.

I have a 1995 ford 150xl with duel fuel tanks both pumps are working but fuel pressure seems to be low it may crank and run for a few minutes and it may not

The normal hassle with older fuel pumps is the valves inside the pump. Together with the membrane which often cracks and becomes less effective, the valves tend to no longer seal properly which also drops pressure. Even though the pumps appear to be working - squirting out fuel, making a racket etc, what you see is not always what you get. If I were in your place, I would replace the pumps (both of them) and applaud the old ones for lasting almost 20 years.

I have a 92 Eagle talon. Has Spark and good Compression. No fuel. New pump. Still No start. Pump will not turn on with ignition.

I would also check your fuses, if all your fuses are ok, then I would go back to the fuel pump double check you wiring. Take a multimeter and make sure your getting power to the pump, check to make sure Positive, Negative and Ground wires are in/connected to the correct connection/spot.

If none of that works, I can at least help you narrow down your problem area, if you are getting power to the fuel pump - your issue is either with your wiring or the pump is faulty -- If you are not getting power to the fuel pump your issue is back at the fuses boxes or there could possible be something wrong with your ignition (doubt it though)
--If your getting power to the pump and your positive that you have is wired correctly, I would take the pump back and try to exchange it, or have them test it.

Hope some of that helps!

2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 randomly will not start. It tries to turn over, acts like it is out of fuel. It appears if I pump it a little and wait approx. 20 mins. it will start. May be a coincidence...

In my opinion it sounds like the fuel pump. For some reason from 2000 to about 2008 the fuel pumps go bad between 65,000 and and 105,000 on that model

To replace the fuel filter?

Hello aperez657: My name is Roger and I will help you. The vehicle has only one fuel filter. The filter is part of the fuel pump assembly. To replace the filter you will need to remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank. You can remove the pump with out dropping the fuel tank. It is a chore though. (1) You need to disconnect the battery. (2) Remove the front seats.(3) Remove the front scuff plates.(4) Remove the rear scuff plates.(5) Remove the lower console cover.(6) Loosen the park brake lever bolts.(7) Partially peel back the carpeting until the service hole covering appears. (8) Remove the following in this order. (1) Service hole cover (2) Electrical connector (3) Disconnect plastic fuel lines (4) Remove fuel pump bolts. Reverse procedures to reinstall the pump.

My gas guage will not work on my 1991 buick riviera what do i need to fix it?

about 98% of fuel gauge issues are the fuel sender in the gas tank. This is part of the fuel pump assembly, and is replaced with the fuel pump. There is another place to check though. The wiring that goes to the fuel sender can get unhooked (possible, but not often happens). The connector is above the gas tank; either way you would have to take the gas tank down. By attaching a rheostat or variable resistor, you can test the wiring and gauge system to see if it works. If it does, then you know that you need to replace the pump to get it working again. If not, then you have wiring issues between the pump and the dash. Hope this is what you're looking for.

Are there any signs that tell you if your fuel pump is going out?

this sounds like a fuel filter issue rather then a fuel pump issue or perhaps dirty injectors. To test the fuel pump hook up a fuel pressure tester and test it.
