If the temp gauge is reading normal, the lights are flashing, and the coolant level is full, the level sensor in the coolant bottle is the problem. I'm a service consultant for a Saturn dealer and I've run across this many times.

Temperature light is flashing. Flashes even when temperature is not rising. Car runs hot when it is idle and when the A/C is on (unless on the highway). Light flashes regardless of temp. I have replaced the radiator fan motor (which is when the flashing light and overheating first started), replaced water pump and thermostat.Nothing has changed. Any ideas?

No evidence of overheating? Does it start after warm up or all the time? If there is no evidence of overheating (do you also have a temp gauge?) then the engine temperature sending unit is probably defective and is causing the false temp light reading.

My 1998 saturn sl2 overheated temp gauge was only on half mark and its only 9 degrees outside heater never warmed up

Check your coolant level. Most causes of no heat are low coolant levels or blocked heater cores. If it overheated and has no heat I'll beat its a low coolant level. Check for leaks. Just because the gauge didn't go all the way up doesn't mean much. Those cars trap air in the cooling systems when the level gets low. That will cause those problems. Check for leaks and if a repair is made I also recommend a termistat.

97 saturn sl the temp light and the low fluid light both come on and flash togather what is going on antifreeze is up and its not over heating

There could be air in the system and a leak that will eventually cause an overheat condition.

The recovery tank for the antifreeze has a sensor in it to tell when the fluid is low.

Two lights come on my dashboard.

Hi!!

Probably your coolant level is low. With motor off and cool, check coolant level. if low, fill it to the MAX COLD mark. DO NOT OVERFILL.

Don't forget to rate this post. Good Luck!!!

Replaced water pump, alternator, radiator, crank sensor and no coolant leaks and car has antifreeze, but why is low coolant dashboard indicator light keep flashing on 97 saturn sl2

Inside the coolant reserve tank there is a sensor for coolant level.

Over time, this sensor can get stick.

Inspect the coolant reserve tank for crack or leak.

Locate the coolant level switch/sensor and soak it in clean warm water.

Make sure it's free to move up and down the float path.

Top off the coolant tank with coolant only.
