Pcv valve is likely stuck open... you need to replace it.

I recently have been having problems with my 2001 Ford Windstar shutting down when i go in reverse and it shuts down when i come to a stop. What could be wrong?

it could be a blocked fuel filter ,a bad idle solinoid , a week fuel pump, a bad throttle position sensor ,dirty air filter , If car is not running ruff before putting in gear . if running ruff all the time it could be bad plugs, injectors coils plug wires or any of the above. check for a vaccume leak it is a # 1 problem with windstars. if this was helpful please leave good feed back

Transmissiom control modulator on 95 suzuki sidekick 16v 1.6 litre

must be 3speed A/T, only it has one.
that 3sp can stick in 1st lots of was
sure the vac, modulator can, if damaged real bad.
this devices purpose is to down shift, going up hill, any load.
low vacuum is heavy load.
so can the rear covernor bad. or clogged filter. ever service it ever>? best is every 50k miles. oil and filter (drop pan)
if no filter , clean the screen that is there.
also the detent valve, the passing gear throttle valve detent
at the rear of the tranny can in fact stick out.
telling a/T you are passing all the time.
the goverenor has hidden screens too, and if 4wd are a real pain to reach. the gov, shifts why tail rpm (speed) so if the gov fails
1st gear for ever due to 0 mph for ever.
