If I swap the Alarm Lock Anti-Theft Module on my 04 Explorer, do I have to take it to the dealer for reprogramming? Can I do it myself?

Hi Paul, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Paul, please take this word of caution, if you swap a theft module from another vehicle to yours it could render all the other module useless and you my have to replace all the modules it affected. For your question about you doing it yourself, unless you have a very expensive scan tool that allows you to program the PIN # into the module its best you take it to the dealer. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair website and check out my satisfied customers testimonials and give me a shout while your there. http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

2000 explorer rear wiper inop.

Make a preliminary evaluation by checking 7.5A FUSE 12 in the central junction box and 15A FUSE 5 in the battery junction box. If the fuses are OK, the problem may be with the up/down relays, the liftgate wiper motor circuit, the liftgate wiper disable switch, or even the general electronic module (GEM).

95 explorer wont go in nothing but low fwd

The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms

What does it mean when 1999 Ford Explorer ABS warning light on dashboard comes on?

That means that the EBTCM has detected a problem within the system. The message indicates that a malfunction exists in the stability enhancement feature.

EBTCM (Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module) is an electronic control module that controls and operates the Anti-Lock brake system, Traction Control System and Stability system. If this module detects a problem, it "asks" the cluster to inform you by displaying a warning message.

You should have your car scanned for trouble codes with a scan tool, the Tech2 scan tool is preferred because other scan tools may not communicate with the EBTCM modules.

Hope helps (remember to rate this answer).

99 explorer sport. Wiring from the body control module

There are several different wires, colors being blk/w, grn/lt blu, and pnk/wht. If you are having problems with the seat belt staying on, then prob going to be the GEM (generic electronic module).

Need keyless entry code for a 04 an 99 ford explorer

On your 99 model the module is located behind the left quarter trim panel,mid-way.You maybe able to see it by removing the speaker cover or the cupholder on top. The module will have a sticker with a 5 digit code.
On the 04 the model is behind the right quarter trim panel toward the front about even with the right rear door stricker.
