Taurus 2001 radio location and antenna connecion

I have ford Taurus 2001. The radio is not working, and I checked the antenna - it is not connected to anything. Do you you know how and to what it should be connected ? I have heard that the radio itself is somewhere in the trunk, and what the driver sees on the control panel inside the car is just the controls of the radio. Please help!

The radio that you see in the dash is your only radio!!! behind the radio is a antenna plugged into your radio(or not) if not then its going to be the biggest (most likely) black wire and you can probably figure out where it goes. theres only one spot for it to go!

Where is the antenna conection jack.

There has to be a lead on radio unless it is totally wireless. Either with a plugin or electrical junction. trace down antenna wire to backside of radio it is there or remote via wire

There are a couple of little things not working. The radio works but i can't tune in any channels and the rear defrost doesn't work.is it a fuse?

check that the antenna cable is still plugged into the back of the radio and plugged into the bottom of the antenna at the finder to check radio end insert 4 large paper clips into the square holes in the front corners of the stereo this disengages the lock mechanisms slide the radio out and check the connections if electrical antenna check the fuse on the back of the radio that it isn't blown if so replace. loosen the inner fender panel and see if cable still connected to antenna #2 check the fuse for the rear defroster its probably blown if so replace and check for any grounded out hot wires also check the connections at each end of the rear window sometimes they become corroded or unglued from the window, if any of the fine lines that cross the window have been scratched or removed partially this will also render the defroster inoperable

2001 Ford Taurus Radio doesn't work but CD player does!

Does your car have an automatic raising and lowering antenna? If it does check your fuses for it. If not pull your radio out of the dash, and check to make sure that the antenna wire has not become lose or unplugged from the back.
