Question about 2003 Ford ZX2

1 Answer

2003 Ford zx2 steering "pops" when turning rt or left more when turning left. This doesn't happen when the car is raised and there is no weight on the suspension. The "clunking" noise which accompanies the "popping" feeling in the steering wheel comes from almost directly in front of where the steering column goes through the fire wall. Help? Thanx Eric

When I turn my wheel all the way to the right or left the wheel locks up but I can pop it loose again why

Get the entire front suspension checked by a good mechanic. This sounds like a steering, steering rack or ball joint issue. Popping and locking damage can occur after a hard knock to the suspension or wheels. Something like hitting a high kerb, hard.

Broken Tension Pulley on a 2003 Ford Zx2

you will probably have too remove the line thats in the way. it's probably a power steering line.if you are very carefull, you might be able to move it just enough to get at it. they usually have clips to hold them in place. look for the nearest clip and loosen. good luck

When making turns I hear a rubbing sound. It makes me think I may need power steering fluid, but it is full. The tires are not rubbing against anything either

Thisis a common problem, it is cause by air bubbles in the steering system. Raise the car front and put jacl stands,Be sure the tires dont touch the ground. engine not running turn the steering wheel fullleftand right for ten times. You must go full left to right or viceversa for ten ties/this will solve it

'99 zx2 wiring

I have a 2003 Ford ZX2, and I think I had the same problem before, I think it is a fuse somewhere. I believe that the breaklights and dash lights are connected. My dad is a mechanic and I will check with him.
