Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT

1 Answer

There is a click sound from the driver's side front wheel of my 2000 Grand Am. It only happens when accelerating from a stopped position and sometimes when going slowly forward and turning the steering wheel. It is always one click only.

Tie rod end will need to be replaced. If there is more than one click than that would be ball joint.

My Dodge Grand Caravan is making a humming noise as you accelerate, while turning left it stops but gets worse while turning right. I replaced the left front wheel hub and no improvement, I need help

if hub bearing replacement did not fix the noise

when noises are on left and right turns
that has CV joints /drive shafts
would say they are the issue
replace both sides

and replace the left hand hub bearing at the same time

When I accelerate forward from a comp stop my car makes a loud grinding/screeching by the front driver side. Once running the noise stops but until it catches speed it makes the sound. What is that?

It could be several things, and I'm going to assume that the vehicle is front wheel drive.

First possibility is the constant velocity joint on the driver's side is worn out.

Second possibility is the wheel bearing on the driver's side.

As to the shaking at 70+mph, you may have an alignment problem, or some issues with the suspension components on that side of the car.

Does the noise get worse when accelerating from a stop, and turning, at the same time?

Clicking noise front wheel drivers side speeding up and getting louder when I accelerate and slowing down

Clicking noise from front end indicates a failing CV joint . It happens as the out of round balls fall into worn grooves in the joint as it turns The fix is to have them replaced

Whining noise progressively gets louder with speed

One wheel turning faster than the other is normal if both wheels are off the ground. If one wheel is dragging when the other wheel is on the ground, it could be brakes or a wheel hub bearing.
Usually if the noise happens on right turns, the left hub bearing is failing, and vice versa.

Pontiac grand am 2003 propeller noise at the driver wheel when slightly turning steering wheel to right

If you have replaced both front hub bearings, and the noise was happening before the repairs, that would leave the axle joints.

Popping noise in the front end on the drivers side, happens when accelerating from low speeds and when letting off the accelerator. It doesn't happen when going over bumps and not when I shake the truck...

Left front wheel noise, accelerates as if 'winding up' and hums

Have tires checked, but sounds like possible wheel bearing going.
