Hi bigdog32r1,
Two reasons -
1. The problem is usually the flasher module...
Remove the trim panel just below the instrument cluster. It just snaps into place. Remove the 2 downward facing screws that were hidden under that trim panel (if they're on yours). They hold the knee blocker trim panel on. Open the drivers door as far as you can and take that screw out in the side of the knee blocker trim. Under the dash, all the way to the left, is a little black cover. Pull it off. There should be 2 or 3 screws across the bottom there. Take them out. Pull the knee blocker trim panel towards you, starting at the top. If all the screws are removed it should unsnap with no problem. Towards the left you'll see a box with 2 big connectors held in place by little bolts and a bunch of relays and stuff. The flasher plugs in there like a big relay. It's best to have the new one before you start so you know which one it is.

2.  Faulty turn signal switch
I hope this would help you ti fix the issue.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Do rate the solution.

My left turn signal recently stopped working. Before ceasing to work, the turn signal (just the left) would blink very rapidly (machine gun speed).

sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck

1994 3500hd front left turn signal won't work

The wire feeding the front left turn signal is likely crimped or stretched and touching the body somewhere. Do you best to trace the left front turnsignal wire back as far as you can - even just jiggling it might give you short term solution (although it will probably come back).
The fast flash of the rear light is because the short up front is letting too much electricity run through the flasher module. This makes it run too fast. Find the short up front, and both problems will be solved.

My left flasher stopped working suddently

If the right flasher is working and the left flasher is not, that should be a burned out light bulb, either front or rear. (outside)
If you will wait until it is dark, it is easier to diagnose.
After dark, turn on the right turn signal, then look carefully at the brightness of the front and the brightness of the rear turn signal. Now, turn on the left, and again observe the brightness of each. One of the bulbs should be out, or not as bright as the other side. That is the bulb you will need to replace.

No left turn single

assuming you have check both front and rear signal lights and they are working then it sounds like the signal flasher is not working for the left side only.put on the hazard flashers to check bulb operation and if the bulbs work then the only thing in the system is the turn signal flasher not working for the left side.the signal flasher looks the same as the hazards but is a different flasher located in the same area as the hazard.

The right turn signal comes on but intermittently it makes long duration of blinks. Sometimes both the right front and right rear will be energized in the on position but will not blink at all. We have...

You say it's the right turn signal that is malfunctioning. If the left works correctly, then the problem is most likely NOT the flasher unit. That unit provides the flash for both left and right signals. I think that flasher unit is mounted on your steering column, down under the dash. It will probably be an aluminum cylinder, but may be a rectangular black plastic block. Before you change the flasher unit, I'd suggest checking the front and rear turn signal light bulbs. On the front, those are the parking light bulbs, and on the rear are the stop light bulbs. You may have a poor connection, probably from corrosion, or the bulb is very nearly burned out completely. Good luck.

Driver side signals only work when headlights are OFF

What may have happened is either the headlights wiring or the parking lights wiring somewhere along the wiring fused to the left turn signals wiring. Depending on if the turn signals go on when you put the parking lights on or the headlights on.

If the signals come on when you turn on the headlights than you only need to locate the light green wire that comes off the left turn signal harness.

Next follow that wire the entire way back to the firewall looking for another wire fused to that wire as you go.

If there are no signs of this you need to continue looking on the other side of the firewall all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit which is a black box that connects to a black harness located next to a grey harness behind the knee bolster.

But if the signals come on when you turn on the parking lights than you will also need to check the wiring from the rear left signal and follow that light green wire all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

This should fix your problem, but if not than your problem may lay within the the wiring between the turn signal/hazard switches and the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

Also you may have a burnt circuit in the junction block. This block is where the light green from the rear left signal and front left signal meet. Don't have a description but if you cannot find it let me know and I will go out to the yard and look myself and let you know.
