Your starter is going bad. Consider replacing it. Temprature does not mean a car should not start.

Good luck.

What would make a 1988 ford ranger, motor 2.3. 5 speed run good till it warms up then it dies, & won't start till it cools off?ty

Could be a massive intake air leak being caused by a defective egr valve.
Could be just about anything and it will need similar checks to an engine when it is a cold non-starter with verification of the essentials of spark, fuel, compression and timing.

Lots of components can become temperature temperamental.
Good luck!

I have a 1992 Honda prelude that when it starts up it idles at 1100rpms fine but after it runs for like five minutes it drops idle to 900rpms and as soon as I hit the gas it stalls out..... It starts right...

on a cold start car will idle fast till it warms up then will drop to about 1000 rpm, try increacing idle speed so when it warms and drops it should stay idleing

SCAN IT FOR IDLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEMS.BUT OTHER POSSIBLE CAUSES TO YOUR STALLING IS BAD PLUGS AND WIRES CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND CLOGGED FUEL FILTER.IF ALL IS GOOD HAVE FUEL PUMP FUEL PRESSURE CHECKED IT SHOULD BE 41- 47 PSI.

Change the coolant sensor located close to the thermostat housing. This is easy but do not over tighten it. You will have the same problem if you do. Tighten till it does not leak only.Good luck!

2001 Dodge Ram Magnum 360 gas stalling also!

1.Start by changing plugs and wires. 2.Check for vacuum leaks. With the engine running, wigglr every hose you can see, to make sure nothing is loose or cracked. 3.Change fuel filter. 4.Check timing. 5.Check air control valve. 6.Check idle control sensor.

Starting in damp weather 1993 240 wagon, auto/od, 235k miles

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.
