can you do me a favor just unplug the abs module lead, and check that part first then get back to me on here. it is very rare that an abs sensor fails. its always down to the wiring plugs. and a car wash will throw the water in the engine bay, not like road water and any seal that are weak or cracked will be the first problem. plus engine dieing is a good sing the abs unit is not working at all. bad part is if the unit is not completely damaged. if the engine starts without the abs plugged in. but will not when its plugged in. can be a problem with the abs control unit board.

Bleeding brakes

wheel bearings are wore out so abs isnt working. change them and the abs light and spedo will be fixed. peddle is low because the fluid goes through the not working abs box.

When I press on the brakes it sounds like its clunking through gears. But when the ABS lite is on the brakes works great

the sound that you hear are the abs working sadly its normal but it mean it works properly. when the abs light is on it mean that your abs is not functioning that's why you don't hear the clunking sound

Abs and brake light on dash stay's on and the spedo would not work to yuou got to 35 mph

This is what happens when the ABS module shorts out. The unit can be rebuilt thru modulemaster.com. If you remove the unit you can still drive the truck, Just wont have ABS like you dont have now. You could get it diagnosed to be sure. The site will tell you how to remove and ship it.

if this is a AWD, you need to test the DEM(4x4 module), and the ABS module for codes, the problem sound more toward the ABS.... possible wheel speed sensors, etc. this will effect the motor and trans, the speedo reads that too.....alot of parts today are internal to the part and can't be examined visually with out a scanner capable of monitoring PIDS.....hope this helps....GL

Abs & brake lites on at all times

Check the wiring to each ABS wheel sensor, more than likely the wiring is chaffed through on one of them causing the fault.

The brake and ABS light both come on when you are receiving no speed signal. Most likely the speed sensor in the top of the rearend is bad.

Dummie lights are trying to tell me something!!!!

The ABS light being on means the Anti-Lock Brake System has a problem and is shut off until repaired. The TC light should be Traction Control, which will come on when there is a problem with the ABS. If the check engine light is on then there is a issue with the engine controls, Testing will need to be done to come up with the fix to keep the lights off.
