Question about 2000 Nissan Maxima
I brought my 2000 Nissan Maxima to the dealer to have an alternator put in. They informed me that the chasis where the front engine mounts are was rotted and unsafe to drive. They also told me there was no fix. I find that hard to believe, that there's no fix. Is this common, other than that the car has been great. I really don't want to get rid of the car, what should I do. It has about 167k miles.
If you can find someone that does bodywork, you may be able to have them make the metal parts and weld them in.
It can be a lot of work and cost more than the car is worth, but just about anything can be fixed.
It may also help to get a second opinion at a bodyshop instead of the stealership.
