MY BACK WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE CONT. TOP. The car is a 05 with 9000 miles garage kept but the dealer and everyone else I contacted told me I have to by a whole new top? Can't the window be sealed back to the top? I purchased a 2005 Crysler Crossfire two weeks ago and my back window fell out. The dealership also told me that I have to replace the top to fix this problem. I am looking for a solution to this problem.

Replacing the door latch is unlikely to have any influence over the window behaviour.

At 2012 the window is probably intelligent and might need the attention of a dealer with a clever laptop.

I am guessing the window is reaching the top of the window frame while the brain thinks it hasn't travelled far enough and when the window hits the top of the frame it thinks it has closed on an obstruction and reverses a little way.

I might be wrong - there might be some adjustment your fitter has missed or it might have a wrong part.

Contact the dealer, there may be a recall or TSB

I would ask if I can replace the regulator and keep the glass.

Contact the Toyo company. toyota will not help you on this one. You need to check to see if there is unusual shredding or peeling or possibly chunks coming off the tires. That is what happened with mine at 14K miles and I am in the process of getting them replaced. Toyota service told me they thought it was normal wear. It was not. After I contacted Toyo, they told me to go to a toyo dealer and have them call the company back. They offered me 100% if I put the same A20 tire onthe vehicle and 70% (100% for unused spare) if I put the new Toyo HT. I chose the latter since it has a 60K mile warranty. What I also found out is the A20 tire is not the same one you can buy now. The new one is the A20A. The original A20 was made specifically for Toyota at their request as an OEM tire. Toyota should have some liability in this and I am fighting them for the 30% cost, but am not holding my breath they will help.

I contacted Chrysler after my local dealership told me I would have to replace the top at the cost of 3,000. Chrysler responded to my request for assistance. They contacted my local dealership and got the price for a new top redused to 1,700 and agreed to cover 50% of the cost. my cost was 850.00. I now have a new top with a 12 mo./12,000 mi warranty. My crossfire had 10,108 mi. I hope this is helpful. wstrawder

Should be replaced due to age. Just remember a new car can break down any time as well.

They are right at the GM dealer, u need a new module, have seen and fixed this very issue, have the dealer do a national inventory search both in Canada and the USA, if the dealer won't, call a US dealer and ask them to try and get the part for U, have done this more than once for out of production parts, always got the part from somewhere.

So sorry for your luck unfortunately in the business we refer to them as Ford Exploders

I had the vynal pull away from the bottom of the glass on mine. Fortunetly it was still under the 36,000 mile warrenty. Took it to 2 different dealers and both told me it is a common problem but the back glass had to be replaced because the vynal comes with the glass and reglueing won't work because the vynal shrinks over time. Hopefully that helps.
