SOURCE: My Jeep has been stalling on and off and cutting

Can almost gaurantee its your crankshaft position sensor. Its going to cost about 60.00 at any parts store. In a bad place though. On the drivers side on top of the trans. belhousing. It can be done yourself.

SOURCE: I have 98 Grand Cherokee

it soundl like your altenator has gone out, or is going out and has killed your battery, a quick, but not always accurate way to test this is with a multimeter. charge your batter and then start your jeep, the voltage should drop, abd then come back up to around 14v.

any other reading and your alternator isnt charging the battery and should be replaced.

also, i would recomend having a load test done on your batter, most reputable shops should be able to do this for you for little or no chatge for the test.

hope this helped

run fault codes and check for faulty cam/crank position sensor. This is indicated by what you have said. Check battery terminals are clean and tight and check engine immobiliser

Car stalled and died. Cranks but wont start all of the sudden.

You will need to see if you are getting spark to the spark plug. You can remove plug cable a d insert a screw driver and place metal of screw driver within 1/8 of an inch from metal on engine or car. Have someone try to start the engine while watching the gap for spark. Make sure you have good connection in cable. If no spark, then it may be distributed.

2003 Pontia Grand Am cranks but won't start

You basically had a intermittent problem,If anything it probably was not the fuel pump, In order for the fuel pump to turn on the ECM, needs to see a crank value, of 250 RPM or the fuel pump will not turn on, what gives this it is the crank sensor,The crank sensor does age and when it goes out you can be driving down the freeway and all of a sudden the car stalls, and it doesnt start up,12_26_2012_5_26_02_am.jpg

I have a 2000 Lincolns ls with a v-6.A month or so back we took at on a road trip and went shopping ,came back out and at first crank it didnt start but after that it fired right up.Well as of today we...

Yes it is your fuel pump. Just for giggles try this next time you get in a bind turn the key on and the fuel pum will go on but dont start it just cycle it. and you hear the pump as you cycle it it build pressure and get easy to start. Why does it work at first crank the fuel pump shoot out pressure the then slowly turns(Manufacture design because its in the fuel tank) . when the fuel pump weakens you cant realy floor it and take off it just stumbles or worst stall. If it was a crank sensor, cam sensor, ignition control, you wouldnt drive home youd be towed home.

Vehicle stalled out while driving, will not kick over

There is no carb, either throttle body or fuel injection. If it was fuel related it would not cause all the lights to come on.Sounds like electrical and will have to be tracked down and diagnosed. Your computer may have gone out but that has to be diagnosed.
