Had duel exaust put on my 1996 dodge 1500 truck now the truck uses twice as much gas and my tail pipes are real suttie what coulb be the problen

I have blown tail lights in my 96 Dodge Ram 1500
Can anyone help me

there are many things it could be the first step is to try a bottle of Heet it is avalable at any local auto parts store... Heet is a water remover a little water in the gas can cause that to happen. Next step (if that dosent work) is your catyliac converter might be clogged not allowing exaust to escape out the tail pipe. another issue could be a defective fuel preassure regulator and/or dirty injectors try the heet first it is only 2 or 3 dollars a bottle and it cant hurt to use it {{{{{{{ read all directions on bottle before use}}}}}}}}

could be a number of things...check the bulbs in the taillights themselves if they are good see if your getting power to the tail lights make sure you have a good ground if your not getting power to the tail lights could be the tail light switch usually mounted on the brake pedal...hope this helps

would you please describe the fumes like raw gas fumes oil smell smells rich etc and color of the exhuast fume and if real smokey extra smoke

You have to have a leak somewhere. Put a large pc of cardboard under your car overnight. In the morning take notice of where the stain is on the cardboard.

Check your wires that goes to your tail light.and fog light.

Follow your exhaust manifold down from engine to exhaust pipes etc, you should see them sticking out, 3"-4" approx.length, with wires coming from them. Some are right on manifold, some further down on exhaust pipes.

Either your valve seals are bad or you piston rings are wore out. I would say it is the valve seals though.

check the choke it may be stuck closed or you may have a stuck float in the carburetor if you need help with checking these things leave a comment and i will get back to you on that..........thanks

There should be two screws on the inside edge of the assembly, one next to top lense and one next to bottom lense. This removes entire assembly not just cover. these are sealed units.
