Replace the speed sensor on the rear of the transmision and posibly the drive gear its plastic so it does not last

a temperature sender located at the thermostat housing was found to be faulty sending permanent earth to tranmission making the overdrive gear inoperable . when replaced the vehicle achieves 100kph from 2500 rpm as true.

it could be a vacume loss or the shifting module..
The shifting module is what tells it to shift - and it is controled by vacume pressure..

check wire/wiring connector on right rear section of transfer case.
disconnect wire connector and remove and inspect gear drive for worn teeth including gear inside case.

Have the governor checked out. It sounds like the spring is weak. It does reset after shutting off the engine

The reason why your OD light is flashing is the speed limiter in the dash will need to be replaced. It could also mean that your over drive switch on the gear lever has gone bad. The best thing to do is plug in a OBD II scan tool (on board diagnostics) and obtain the trouble code stored inside your Isuzu vehicle computer.
