Battery Is Draining

My car has been good and always starts. Then out of nowhere yesterday, it would not start. I got a boost and it started up right away. I let it run and went for a drive. 7 and a half hours later, it would not start yet again, so I got another boost, so I could move my car to get things tested. The test showed that m alternator is good, as is my battery. Today it did start but not how it uses to, very slowly. Something is obviously draining the battery and I am getting stressed. Plese help. I noticed the lighter fuse that is also the Diagnostic Link Connector is blown, would that have anything to do with my battery?
It is a 4 door 2001 Cavalier.

I noticed the blown fuse after my battery drained. I have not put a new one as I live in a small town and nothing is open, so I cannot buy a new one till tommorrow.

I had the battery tested after the jump start...on the test it said FUL and a green light. I have a hydrometer battery and the ball is green also.

Make sure your connections at battery are clean & tight, even go as far as loosening them slightly & wiggle them back & forth, then retighten good. Have you had to have it boosted lately, like most recently? Are your belts tight?

Has it been better since that fuse blew?

Start your car and remove the positive battery cable off. if the car dies it is your alternator. alternator can test good but be bad especially on a cavalier. that is the problem i had and the alternator fixed it.

Does your car have a security system called Lo-Jack. If it does, you have a couple of back-up batteries tied to the system, they are suppose to keep the security system going until you start the car up and charge again. If they fail to hold a charge then the security system takes from your battery as a constant drain. I had a case just like this, I figured it out for myself after buying a new battery and it continued to happen. The battery trouble was gone when I figured out what was going on.

Might be a short circuit. Or your  battery is dying.
How did you determine that the battery is OK?
Did you test the battery every time? Because it also well might be that your starter's brush is wearing off.
Though it would be better if you could state if the battery charge and drain was only an estimate or an accurate test each time.

yes, but it is really important to check the battery when you are unable to start if it's full. because if it's full even at that time, there is not a drain in the system and even the battery is okay...if these apply, it's not the fault of the alternator.
Try CMV9's test (try not to touch the cable end and the car's metal parts at the same time:) and if it doesn't give a result, it's your starter's brush wearing out.

Terrian won't start boosted yesterday and then checked battery and it was charged right up ran good all day. Went to start this am and nothing the key won't come out of ignition

If key won't come out of ignition the problem is most likely park shift interlock. The park shift interlock is a device that won't allow vehicle to be started unless it is in park. Also the cable could be stuck.

I think my starter is draining my battery down wont start with boost

You might want to get a new battery because if it won't start with a boost then your battery might have a dead cell in it

Flat battery only done 10000 kms nothing left on it wont take charge completely dead cannot get same battery n70zz is closest but it is only 670 amps not 800 amps

The 670 amps will work, but will probably not last very long. It wont hurt anything except the battery itself. Make sure the cables polarity is connected right. A note on how to boost a car safely: ALWAYS START THE CAR FIRST THAT IS DOING THE BOOSTING. This ensure no computer damage will result on either car. Good luck.

My '89 Jeep Wagoneer won't start. It has a 6month

sounds like the starter actually have some one load test it for you, might be drawing more power then it need, hence the need for a jump

My sisters 1996 lincoln continental sometimes starts sometimes wo

Definitely sounds like a starter. When a bad starter is cold, it will start the car. After riding around for a while or after several starts in a row, the starter heats up and won't start without a boost. Since you've ruled out the battery and alternator, I'm positive a new starter will solve your problem. Good Luck!
