How do I replace a I.A.C. on a 2003 chevy cavalier

The best way to find it is go and get the new IAC Valve so you know exactly what it looks like ..While at the parts store get a small tube of die electric lube and safety glasses.make sure engine is cold...Set park brake and raise hood..Disconnect negative battery cable for safety and because if you unplug IAC Valve it will cause a dash trouble light to come on if battery is connected...So..Disconnect battery..Look at the top of the engine on or behind throttle body..You may have to remove air filter..Look around top center and you should see the valve...Carefully disconnect Valve wiring connector..Remove Valve..Inspect housing for any damage or contamination..Clean with shop towel if needed...Use lube that was purchased and lube o-ring on valve..Install valve and snug the screws tight..DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN..Lube connector terminals and reconnect wiring..Install battery negative cable that was removed ..Don't OVERTIGHTEN ..Just tight enough where you can't twist it off...Start engine and test drive.....complete..

My engine check light comes on and shows PT1441

You either have a stuck open EVAP purge valve allowing engine vacuum to reach the EVAP system at undesired times, a stuck closed EVAP vent valve that isn't allowing the vacuum to be released, or a fuel tank pressure sensor thinking there is a vacuum reading in the fuel tank after the tank vent command has been given by the PCM. If you find your EVAP charcoal canister, try to unhook all the connectors and reconnecting them to make sure there is no unwanted dirt or grime in with the pin terminals.

I hope this info helps!

Have a 2003 chevy cavalier engine check light light is on flashing . obd said #2 cilinder mis fire what would it be

If it's just one cylinder, it could be the spark plug or the spark plug wire...or, you could have a plugged or malfunctioning injector (if your car has fuel injection).

Getting an engine code 1450 on a 2003 ford Explorer 4.0 SOHC. Cleaned and inspected EVAP canister vent solenoid. Replaced EVAP canister purge valve. Any suggestions?

Did you check the block box connected to the vent solenoid? There's a hose that comes off it that appears to run nowhere, that's the fresh air vent. If it's blocked it won't allow air into the system which will set the trouble code. If that's clear, the vent solenoid itself is bad and needs to be replaced.

Idiot light, but otherwise runs fine

first check ur gas cap if wasnt put on correctly ,left off ,or does not seal usually sets off one of the evap codes--if cap looks good than need to check vent valve possible faulty and the wiring circuit for damage or short -also check vent valve for blockage

Car is not getting fuel.. Replaced fuel pump will not run still.. Checked pressure needle valve on line and has no pressure..

It's possible you have a security problem. Have the codes checked for the body control module. If the security light flashes when you try to start it and leave the key in the run position, allow it to flash until the stops flashing. Turn the key off count to 30 and try to start the engine again. If it starts you will have to have a technician diagnose it properly.

2000 cavalier check engine light code po440

P0440 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System

evaporative emission (EVAP) system has a large leak.
Check the gas cap or vent valve. these are the most common problems.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) at different times performs various tests on the EVAP system. OBD II Enhanced EVAP systems are in place to keep fuel tank vapors from venting into the atmosphere, and instead purges them into the engine to be burned. Regular pressure tests are conducted by the PCM to monitor the sealed system for leaks. The PCM monitors the EVAP system pressure by watching the Fuel tank pressure sensor (FTP). When the sensor indicates a small leak in the EVAP system, this code is set.

Here are some additional causes.

* A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses
* A small leak in the purge valve or vent valve
* The EVAP Canister may be leaking

Not getting gas from injectors thottle body

remove the electrical connector at the throttle body and if you have a noid light stick it into the connector or you can just use the test light as a jumper between the two wires of the connectors and while you have some one cranking the engine see if the test light is flashing if it does flash then you have to check the fuel pump and make sure it works but if there is no light flashing while you crank the problem is in the ecm.
