1994 prizm speedometer eratic tried 3 used clusters and replaced sensor New schematic shows ckt runs through ECM is this a possibility

automatic or stick shift car???????
prizm = toyota corolla, (vast parts to be had and books on same)
1994
what are the symptoms, not guessing I need all facts on symptoms.
lets see. 1.6L engine or 1.8L , sorry they are not the SAME>
so what engine is there?

fuses test good?
car drives perfectly, all other electrics run ok , all lighting ok.
bad cluster , well what is bad, tacho, speedo, odometer, gauges, warning lamps. what?
say all things in the cluster that work and not work.
then and only then can any one give good advice.
ill run with only speedo needle bounces,
most 90s cars love to do that, its a fact. (high miles)
if need speedo and dead odometer that is unique.
that is correct more modern cars, all deleted that speedo cable
long long ago and is now a 10cent wire from cluster to ECU.
as did yours.
since the ECU knows speed already why not let it do the job for free. and did.
end history class but, the odd duck cars exist.

first thing to do is learn that the cars ECU has flash codes
you jumper 2 pins on a DLC, and the ECU flashes the CEL lamp with codes, if the code for VSS is set BINGO transmission VSS is dead, or erratic. code 42 tells you VSS is bad. does it flash 42?

The ECU uses speed, to calculate load and fuel better , knowing this facts.

but in your case its 1/2 true, the odd duck, the toyota way in 1994
is to have the VSS sensor drive the cluster
and the cluster speed drives the ECU.
(have book in hand from mitchells online, so can you of you look)

V3 is bad, (or as in all electrics, (laws) wires./loose/bad, there.
VSS means veh. speed sensor
my guess is you will ask where is it, like all here do not wanting
to pop 15bucks to read at mitchels.
At 55 mph:= 48 Hz ( the signal speed on it) square wave.

where it is depends on auto or stickshift
but its FWD and this sensor in on the side with axle ring gear
i guess.
the 3 wire sensor with R-Y, R-G and R-L color wires is a BINGO.

How do I change the odometer bulb in a 2003 odyssey?

First you have to remove the combination meter set ( Odometer and RPM meter plus the temperature and fuel gauges) from the dash board by unscrewing 3 or 4 screws. Bend you head down and look above your meter set, you will see the screws holding the meters. Pull out the meter set and unplug the cables behind the meters. The bulbs are there. Remove the bulbs by turning the holder and replace the faulty bulb/s accordingly.

How to replace cable. 2004 isuzu rodeo 3.5. Does it have a speedometer cable or only a sensor?

now triple posted. read my other responses.

why not stick to 1 post and update it.?

no, there is no cable. i answer that.

and ask you if the odometer works?????

and if you SCANNED the PCM. do that first.???

its all electronic end to end. this.

it just a stroked version of the 3.2 and is not GM engine.

this be it. always work engine with 6VE1w , facts.

"the 6VE1W 3.5L DOHC 24V V6 was introduced in 1998 with 215 hp (160 kW) and used until 2004"

see my other post , with facts.

stop guessing.

if the PCM says the VSS is good, it is, the sensor is GOOD.

stop guessing.

if the speedo is dead, and the odometer works this is a bad speedo.

and the no DTC for VSS proves that fact.

the VSS runs many things in your car, and the SCANNer would spit out lots of DTCs for all those other things too.

not just the speedo ./odometer failures.

SCAN it and stop guessing.

all cars, in USA< 1996 now, scan it first.

on newer cars. 10 times that, on my cars there are 1000s of DTCs.

even lost DC power to point X. Y and Z

scan it.

How do you replace the odometer bulb in a 1995 mercedes benz c-class?

There are no screws for speedometer assembly, pull the speedo meter out from right and then from left, remove holders from the back of the meter assembly, unscrew the speedometer cable, and pull the assembly as much as u can, u can access the holders for odometer (on the top), take out the holder, replace a new fish bulb and follow these steps backward, hope this will solve the problem

The dashboard

You may have a couple separate concerns. The fuel gauge if it is on empty may have a hole in the float. The speedometer odometer and trip meter is probably a broken gear in the speedo assembly. If the speedometer itself works it is getting a signal from the speed sensor.

Odometer/Trip Meter Not Owkring

it's most likely the cluster if one function works and the other doesn't. And, you likely have an electronic vehicle speed sensor that sends a signal to your analog cluster that then dispays your speed and odometer.

1994 celica GT lighting fault

You have a dimmer switch for those lights. That would be the next thing to check. Try operating the switch to see if anything happens.
