There is a bleed valve on the backside of your caliper
under the brake hose. 2. on the inside of your rotors
there is a minimum thickness. if you have a micrometer mic them yourself. if no take to local parts store they will be glad to measure them for you.

Brakes problem

at this point I suspect that it is as it appears not to be bleed the second 1/2 of the cylinder
You can get a book and follow the bleeding procedure as some GM product master cylinders require a switch, pin to be removed and a plug put in so that the pistons can move to allow the bleeding process
you could take it to a brake shop and ask what has to be done to get the master cylinder to bleed properly
getting a workshop manual would be a good place to start as bleeding brakes is not always simple unless you know how it all works

I want to know a ill bit more about how the problem started. If it just went from having brakes to not having brakes it could be the brake master cylinder, or on gm vehicles they have a brake proportion valve. Let me know how it started please

Perhaps if you post some photos of the springs, clips, and other hardware, as well as the brake assembly itself, I could probably be able to guide you. However, I don't know what it looks like, so I have nothing to go on.
