Your vehicle doesn't have spark plug wires . Has coil on plug ignition system . Eight individual coils sitting right on top of the spark plugs . An the spark plugs have the tendency to break in the cylinder head . Does your ford have the 5.4 L 3 valve engine . Your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the tool to take the broken spark plug out off the cylinder head. What cause the 2000 expedition to run ruff and hesitate on acceleration

There are many things that can cause this. It could be a stretched or jumped timing chain, low fuel pressure, a bad TP sensor, a faulty MAP sensor, a bad MAF sensor, intake manifold gasket, internal engine damage, or a clogged catalytic converter. I would start with checking compression to rule out internal engine problems. If compression is good on all cylinders next check fuel pressure. If these 2 areas are ok, perform a backpressure test to rule out a restricted exhaust.

Hesitation when excelarating while driving

Check compression in #1. A cylinder needs gas, spark, and compression to fire. Check spark with a calibrated spark tester. It could be an injector problem, so check for pulsing of the injector. Does the spark plug show wetness after being cranked over?
The compression in #1 should be within 75-80% of the highest reading cylinder.

My 1998 ford exoedition check engine light is on and the code is cylinder 5 missfire

A P0305 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #5.

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0305 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plug or wire
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Poor compression
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
* If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

* If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope this helps.

My 2003 ford expedition keeps jerking and jumping at heavy load but runs good out on the highway

This is likely caused by a ignition coil or spark plug, testing with a scanner to determine which cylinder is at fault is the first thing that needs done. Coils are prone to having a high fail rate on this model.

My 2003 ford expedition reads a code 0303= 3 cylinder misfire, which side of my vehicle would that be on and could replacing ignition coil and spark plug fix it and stop the lose of power and hesitation?

Third cylinder back on the passenger side. I'd recommend changing all 8 coils and spark plugs. These coils don't last long, and once one goes, more will fail soon after. This job also requires removing the fuel rail to gain access to the coil and plugs. I personally have the same SUV and went through the same issue!!

Clunky noise sounds from front end on 98 ford expedtion 4 wheel drive not always there just had new tranfer case put in.Not able to tell when he does sometimes and lower speeds or just when acclerating....

Fords are known for having Ball joint issues. they can cause noise if they are extremely loose. Sway bar links also can break causing a clunking too. I'd take it to a shop and have them do a front end shake down. 1/2 hour labor rate.
