It sounds as though it may be corroded in place. If this is the case, you will have to replace the gauge. Did the car sit for a long time with a full tank of gas?

I don't know about the older panels, but on newer ones, remove the IP, turn it clockwise and let the needle come around to 0 Plug it back in and check before you reassemble. if it doesn't work replace the TAC electric motor.

1991 camaro rs fuel light how to shut off

Either fill it with gas or check the wiring on your sending unit/pump. Big bummer if you need to drop the tank. If the gauge works it could be as easy as pulling the bulb if it is bothersome. I recommend fixing it correctly.

95 bmw 525i no dash lights no tach no tremp gauge and fuel gauge pegged way past full

Why was the battery missing to begin with? I would start by checking all fuses under dash and Central hub. Check for burned in-line fuses,if any, coming off of battery cables.

Car ran fine, got to destination & turned off engine. Went to leave, and gas gauge pegged way past the Full mark & car wouldn't start. There is gas in the car & I am getting spark to the...

Fuel pump. Have you checked to see if your getting gas to the engine? The fuel gauge is par t of the pump, when they go bad, they quit. Your gauge says it is way past full, was it like that when you parked it? Did it get fuller on you without adding gas? Then that tells me fuel pump. Or the fuse for the pump. If you had filled the car and that is what the gauge was when you parked it then it could actually be several things. bad crank or cam sensor, ecm. coils, ignition control module, wet distributor? I can't tell from here with what you gave me, But if you can get it to a shop that has a tester, that would be my choice, hook it up to a tester and that will tell what has failed.

I have an 89 camaro rs and the feul gauge is stuck on full. is it the sending unit or something else

Most likely it would be the tank sender unit, but it could also be the dash gauge and or possible wiring. When u turn off the key , does the gauge go to a different position ? If so, then probably the tank sender, if not then the dash gage.

88 camaro rs has no power to the fuel pump has a small v-6 it will start right a way with gas poured down the intake

Check to see if there's power at the fuel pump when cranking the engine. If no power, check the relay and oil pressure sender switch. If the engine looses oil pressure, it stops the fuel pump from running to protect the engine. The relay is located on the firewall above the master cylinder.

68 camaro aftermarket fuel gauge pegged passed full

Jess, Make sure you don't have the ground and sender level circuits crossed at the gauge. If the needle is pegs to full it indicates an open circuit, if the needle pegs to empty it is indicating a short to ground.
Let me know.
