Take wire connector loose, three wire connector. Wire colors, gray--orange with black tracer--lite green. Remove the two bolts/screws. #5 should be the sensor, toward the top of engine.

Hello! The problem is more than likely being caused by the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor...It is bolted to the side of the throttle body...Has wire colors Gray (+5volts)...Light Green (Signal out)...And Black (Return or Ground)...Using safety pins...Push the point into the rear of the in-place MAP connector...Clip the (+) meter probe, set to read +5volts, to the Light Green wire...The (-) probe to the Black...Start the engine...At idle reading is close to +5 volts...At 2500 rpm reading drops to 1.5-2.0 volts...If you have already replaced the MAP and do not get these results...Pull the MAP connector and read back into it using the same procedure...If, for instance, the Light Green signal lead remains on +5 volts it is probably shorted to the Gray in the harness...No voltage is present; The Gray wire is open...Or, No ground on the Black, the Black is open...Whatever you find wrong...Merely cut out the bad wire and re-connect on both ends..See diagram of MAP location below....Send a comment via e-mail....Guru...Saailer

P0107 code on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. Stalls after acceleration released while driving.

Hi, check the connector and wiring on your MAP sensor. If that looks good, back-probe the sensor connector with the engine running, using a voltmeter. First verify there is approximately 5 volts DC between the gray and orange wires. If not, remove the connector and probe the connector terminals. If there is still less than 4.8 volts at the connector, suspect the wiring from the PCM is bad. If the voltage is good off the sensor but not on the sensor, the sensor is bad.
If the voltage is good, next check the function of the sensor. Measure the voltage between the orange and green wires. Open and colse the throttle to see if the voltage changes with throttle opening. If it does, the sensor is probably fine. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

MAP sensor is #1 in the diagram below.

All the insulation on my map sensor pigtail wires has burned off. A friend of my cut the wires near the computer and I bought a new pigtail... but the wires on the new pigtail are all white and I need to...

Okay here we go, there are three wires from the map sensor, if you look at the sensor there are letters stamped on the plug area, theres an A,B,and C the wires start from the sensor as orange/blk to terminal A then lite green wire to terminal B and last is gray wire to terminal C . im not sure what wires your freind cut but there only one at computer for map sensor and thats the signal wire, all slots at computer are numbered the signal wire is light green and connects to slot #25. heres a diagram for all wires to computer you will need to locate the wire in order to connect them back, this is not hard find the open slots and check diagram for wire color, hope this helps, good luck.3b58cfd.gif

SATURN OF KNOXVILLE SAID THAT THEY ARE SWAYING TO THE COMPUTER OF THE CAR BUT WHEN I WENT TO AUTO ZONE THEY SAID THE DIAGNOSTIC SAID IT WAS THE O2 SENSOR. SATURN ALSO SAID WHEN THEY STARTED THEW CAR UP IT...

I would trust the dealer over Autozone if they experienced these problems. However, if the car is running an the O2 sensor code was stored, go for that first.

An O2 sensor will not cause a driveability problem until the car is warmed up as the O2 sensor doesn't come into play until the exhaust is good and hot.

If the car cranks but dies on them when cold, then it's the crank sensor or computer in that order.

Good luck to you.

Map sensor wiring for Chevy s-10

Well after looking it up it's the the map input wire is light green on both 4 and 6 cylinder models.

On a 4cyl the map has black gray and light green, the black is ground, the gray is a 5 volt refrence from the pcm(power control module), and the light green goes to to ECU for MAP input.

On a 6cyl the map has black gray and light green, the black is goes to the automatic transmission, gray is a 5 volt refrence from the pcm(power control module), and the light green goes to to ECU for MAP input.

Hope this helps and good luck
