the problem I have is the truck will crank but not start and stay running. At one point I had no fuel to throtlebody at all. Replaced fuel pump and then had to change the sending unit (one ground wire was hot instead of ground). I finally got it started. I noticed that if it is slightly moist outside the truck starts very hard.( Kinda like the choke is stuck on older cars). Right now I have spark at the plugs and I see the injectors pulsing and see fuel going into the throttlebody but the truck will not start. If you use starting fluid it will run til the starting fluid runs out. I am lost as to what to do. It has all the things needed to run. I have replaced the plugs. I also know the gas is getting to the cylinders becvause when I changed the plugs you can smell gas on them. I have checked the rotor and cap. They seem ok no burn marks or cracks. A lot of carbon on the inside of the cap and rotor. Used contact cleaner and put it back together.

im confused by your comment,it doesnt start when it rains, replaced fuel pump! it has fuel but does it have spark at all cylinders, from your description seems a classic case of weak ign.spark, worned out ign. parts!

Hello, just had this problem myself. Check your EGR valve by pulling the vacume line off and pushing up under the valve put your finger over the vacume line hole and release the valve, if it returns to normal position then its bad if not its good. If its bad it needs replaced. Mine did the exact same thing and thats what it was. Hope this helps

Computer showing any codes? Could be a bad regulator or a leak in the system allowing air in and fuel to flow back to the gas tank.

The cam sensor controls the injector pulse. No cam signal = no fuel. Also these cars are known for wires chaffing through on the injector harness. If any of the wires are shorted out it will kill all the injectors and result in a no fuel no start situation. Check the wiring first, normally a no cam signal will set a code and a check engine light. Make sure the fuses are good also. Hope this helps.

How to repair gas pump

First thing to try and do is to pull the air intake hose off between the throttle body and the air cleaner box. Have someone try to turn it over while you are spraying ether into the throttle body with the flap open. If it starts and dies then you have a problem with it getting fuel. If this is the case then start by replacing the fuel filter (it is under the drivers side of the vehicle right around the door). When you do this you should see an aluminum line that is running to the fuel injector under the hood. Following that line you should see a black cap and under that cap is a pressure relief valve. Qhile someone is trying to start it push down on that to release any air in the fuel line from changing the filter out. When you see fuel come out release the valve and It should start right up. If not , after you release the valve spray some ether in the intake and when it starts put the gas until it stays running and then it should be good to go. To replace the pump you have to drop the gas tank.

Fuel pump, you have to have press in the rail to fire all injectors- she will run on ether but not good for her. Ck your pump and any related fuses, relays, wiring.
