Yeah, it's in the fuel tank in the back of the jeep. It's not too difficult to replace but you have to drop the fuel tank and I would recommend siphoning any fuel out before dropping the tank. Carfully unplug the wires above the fuel tank after you loosen it up before dropping it. I'd advise you to have a helper on hand. Hopefully the tank isn't cracked or deformed. You must have a tight seal in order for the pump to **** the fuel out. Good luck.

I have a 1993 jeep Cherokee country that all the lights work but at night my brake lights are non-responsive in the day time they are fine but as soon as i turn my headlights on the brake lights stop...

It sounds like a a bad relay. See if there is a separate relay for the taillight/stoplights and swap it with another relay to see if there is any change.

No fuel pump

Though it should not happen, it can happen...First, check to see if you have power at the pump harness. If not, check the pump relay in the power distribution center near the battery, and any attending fuses there and in cabin fuse panel. They can be tested with a test light by probing the back of each end of the fuse itself with a test light without removal. If you are missing a chart, check them takes about ten minutes. Also check auto shutdown relay. Depending upon what you find we may not be finished yet, but this will get you started on testing.

1998 jeep cherokee runs but dies at stoplight but starts back up doesn't do it often

I had the same thing happen to my Jeep Cherokee. For me the answer was that I had disconnected the air filter to work on the power steering pump and I forgot to reconnect it. When I did, the stalling at stoplights went away.

Fuel Odor on a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The evap system ( fuel vapor recovery system ) , if there is a leaky hose, can let fumes out that can be detected in the cab. If you "top off" the fuel at the pump you can spill fuel into the charcoal canister meant for fuel vapors only. the vapor recovery system is behind the left rear tire.

Usually if there is a hose leak a check engine light will come on.

If you TOP OFF, don't. If you don't, good. Hope this helps.
