Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring

2 Answers

Car hesitation I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, automatic transmission. 53,000 miles. My engine light is on and will not go off. Sometimes the car will hardly accelerate. It will jump with air type popping noise and bog down. If I pushed the accelerator very slowly, it would accelerate but would take about a minute to reach 40 mph. The next day, the car ran great again and the check engine light went off. It ran fine for about 4 days than the problems returned.

Sounds like the coil pack is failing or you could just have water in your fuel.... buy a couple bottles of gas line antifreeze (it sucks up water) and add them to your tank when you fill up.... if that doesn't fix it it is likely the coil pack

Befor you change the coil pack change the spark plugs to the platnium and the spark plug wires. I was surprised even though the plugs and wires seemed OK they were not. Ed Rundle

Have you ever replaced the timing belt?? If not the problem is likely to be a loose worn out timing belt. A floppy belt will play havoc with the sensor signals and trigger a check engine light and a camshaft sensor code.

2004 CROSSFIRE 52,000 MILES, CAR STALL AT IDLE, HESITATES WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL DIED TWICE WHILE IDLING. INJECTORS? FUEL FILTER? AIR FILTER?

This happened to me at 53,000 miles. Its your air flow sensor. This runs at about $200 for the part plus labor.

Hard shifting of transmission

You need to get another opnion from Lexus. The transmission shouldn't shift like that and it isn't a software issue. This could be a warrenty issue or a recall issue. I would take it to a diffrent dealer.

had a problem with a grand prix like that once, was the fuel filter, and injectors, all needed replaced, and it only had 89,000 miles.
Would check fuel filter first. Is it possible you got some bad gas??
