Question about 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab

Heat always blowing on floorboard when driving even in off mode.

1996 Dodge Ram 1500 heat always blowing on floor when driving vehicle even when heat is turned off. If a/c is turned on cold air blow through vents but heat continues to blow on floor. Summer's almost here and need to get problem fix as the heat will run me out of the truck. Please help.

On the bottom of the heater case is a vaccum door right on top of the hump it has a white plastic adaptor that breaks replace with dealer part it just pops off

take door pannal off there should be 3 bolts in the inside of the door where mirror sits unless its the reflection peace where you have to just get a new mirror

you have a vaccum leak under the hood on the right side between the a/c coil and the intake it's a small black hard plastic hose.

It could be a loose heat shield on the exhaust. How ever I have seen the inspection plate loosen at the torque convertor housing. There may even be a loose bolt on the flywheel.

Dodge Ram 1500...heater is blowing cold air, even though the engine temperature remains normal. I am able to get more heat from the defrost than the floor or vent settings. Help!


Take a flashlight and look up under dash from center console area, across to passenger side, for wiring harness, and/or hoses(small rubber) , they should lead you to it. Haven't had my head under one of those recently, and having a problem tracking you down a diagram for some reason, but it has to be there.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 the air blows out ice cold for about 20 min. and then just shuts off what would cause this I put a gauge in the vent and it was blowing out 38 degrees


I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab. I have had my a/c recharged but it is only blowing barely cold air. It used to shut down when I accelerated and blow hot air before. I don't have that problem anymore except barely cold air. Any solutions?
