Question about 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Sport Hatchback
Replaceing driver side mirror on dodge caliber sxt
If you open the door you can pop off 2 pieces of plastic that reveal 3 bolts. 3/16 (i think)socket works and you will need an extender. but it is literally 3 bolts and that is it. i bought the part from a dealer and it was $40 and they wanted $90 for install. took me 15 min.

You all rock! I am so not a car girl; but, my mirror broke, a friend ordered the part for me through his dealership and I was able to read your instructions on here and fix it myself without the assistance of ANY of the mechanics in my family, or my husband. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Very Very Helpful. I followed all you mentioned and the Unit came off with 3 screws. Just Wiggled the Mirror till it Popped off. Then popped on the newly purchased Mirror. Back in Business.
Wish you had an answer on how to keep side mirrors safe from Vandals and drive by Soda Cup Attacks. That's how my Mirror got broke. Kids joy riding threw a cup full of Orange soda which bounced off my drivers side window and smacked into the mirror. When you have an idea for this please let me know.

You will need to remove the triangular panel on the inside of the door on the opposite side of the broken mirror. Once you remove the panel, you will see the retaining bolts holding the mirror in place. Once you remove the bolts, the mirror can then be pulled out from the outside. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the new mirror.

To replace the driver side mirror glass only, Grasp the side view glass only and pull off carefully. It is attached with clips and should come off pretty easy. Install new glass, lining up the clips and carefully push in. It is recommended you use a towel cloth over the glass for cushion and safety.

you will need to disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery, remove right front wheel, remove underbody air dam, remove accessory drive splash shield, remove the accessory drive idler pulley. Next loosen the lower mounting bolt, then loosen the a/c compressor and relocate(pull down and to the outboard side of the vehicle to make room for the alternator the come out) next uplug field circuit from alternator and the B+ terminal nut and wire. remove upper mounting bolt on the alternator and lower mounting bolt. relocate the terminal to the other side of the a/c line. Rotate alternator pulley down and slide down and out of vehicle. Yes, its a pain in the ****.
