The metal plate in front of you has to come off there is a very thin clip that holds this .they make a com presser tool so that you can push it down to get the clip.after that is removed you will see the turn signal switch it is held in by three screws the top right one is hidden behind the switch .flip the turn signal like your going right . then pull switch out a little and let hang .then you will see a torx screw a T25 REMOVE SCREW.turn key to the run position then pull out. then reverse

Ignition switch broke in 87 ford f 150 need to unlock steering wheel to tow it

About the only way to do it is to drill out the lock cylinder or take the steering wheel off. There is a plate under the steering wheel the cylinder locks in place.

How to change the ignition lock cylinder on a 1985 s15 gmc jimmy

1st you will need two tools, you can get them from any auto parts store like NAPA. See picture at end of the GM steering lock ring depresser, a must have..
INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove steering wheel. Underneath is the turn signal switch. There is a ring around the steering shaft holding the steering wheel lock plate down. Push down on the lock plate and remove the ring and the lock plate. Next is the turn signal switch. 3 screws holding it down one on the right side above the key and 2 on the left. Probably have to move the turn signal switch left and right to get them. the arm is held on with one screw. Remove the hazard button, one screw in the end of it. There should be enough slack in the turn signal wires to get it over the steering shaft. On the top side at the bottom of the ignition switch there should be a screw. Remove screw and the ignition switch will just pull out. Reverse to install.

Remove ignition lock to switch link 1995 suburban

The ignition lock assembly contains two components: a lock cylinder to deter theft and an electrical portion that supplies power to electrical components such as the radio, electric windows, and windshield wipers. The electrical portion of the ignition switch also provides power to the starter motor to start the engine.
The ignition lock is an anti-theft device that prevents a vehicle from being driven unless the ignition key is in the ignition switch. If the ignition key is not in the ignition switch, it 's impossible to turn the steering wheel.
To replace the ignition switch cylinder lock, the trim panels around the steering wheel are removed. Then the tamper-proof hardware that attaches the ignition lock assembly to the steering column is removed. The ignition lock assembly is removed from the steering column, and the lock cylinder is replaced. The new ignition lock is reattached to the steering column, and the trim panels are replaced.make sure you dissconect battery first the 1997 had a recall on the ignition switch dont no if the 1995 had a recall if so they will replace for free

You have to remove the steering wheel with a puller, and the lock plate ,with a lock plate remover tool, and the cancel for the turn signals, and then the turn signal switch, then you remove a screw on the right side about 2 o clock position, and the lock and key will slide out.

I need instructions on how to change out the ignition switch on a 2004 gmc 1500 pickup truck

Hello Steve...The lock cylinder will come out if you can turn the ignition switch. You have to remove the bezel around the steering colunm, the plastic trim behind the steering wheel. There is a small hole on top of the ignition lock housing, you need to turn the ignition to the run position, move the shifter to drive(so the starter does not enegage) use a small pick to push in the small hole and turn the ignition to the start position. The lock cylinder should now slide out.
I will post a schematic.
You do not need to remove the steering wheel.

Happy Holidays...good luck, i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.
