Change out the high voltage wiring to the plugs and to the coil. If no help, change the coil. Make sure to use a clean spark plug to check the spark.

Pull a plug wire and spark plug. Put wire on plug and hold with INSULATED pliers against the block, where you can see the spark. Have a helper turn over the motor while you watch for a BLUE spark. if no blue spark but yellow or orange, then you don't have enough spark to fire. It is also possible you have a bad distributor coil, which is mounted inside the distributor. It's kind of involved to change, but possible. Let me know what you find and I'll try to help from there!!

Truck want start

replace the coil and condenser as the spark has to be bright dark blue with a definite snap. The orange spark is an indication of either a failed condenser (first point to check by replacing) or a burnt out coil.

1996 mazda mpv Replaced timing belt, and no spark

Check to see if you pulled the distributor wire apart. Even if the belt wasn't properly installed there should be a spark.

Got kno spark from park plugs

You didn't state the year, make, model or engine. So I will guess it is a 4 cylinder car... late 80s or early 90s. If the coil is external ( not under the distributor cap ) You should check for spark from the coil to ground. If there is spark, that would mean there is spark going into the distributor but not coming out. That would indicate a bad distributor cap or rotor. If the coil is under the distributor cap, then you will have to remove the distributor cap. Inspect the underside of the distributor cap, look for burnt terminals, cracks or tracking. Next inspect the rotor, it requires removal of a screw through the side of the rotor into the distributor shaft. You might have to rotate the engine to access the screw. Beyond that there are three sensors and an ignitor in the distributor, some parts stores have the equiptment neccesary to test the ignitor. A new ignitor is around $80. If you have a multimeter, you can check for resistance to the three sensors at the 8 pin plug. The ohm reading should be 350-700 ohms across the blue/green wire and the blue/yellow wire, orange/blue wire and the white/blue wire, the solid orange wire and the solid white wire. None of the sensors are available to buy, so if any of these three sensors are bad, you have buy a distributor.. best of luck.

No power when driving, runs rough, spark plug are new but look black when removed which indicates running too rich. The computer fault code says 14 which is the ignition signal circuit but I don't know...

Replace your entire distributor assembly. Your primary or secondary coil is compromised. Running rich because of weak spark. If you do a spark test, you will not see a bright blue spark if I am right. You will instead see a weak, almost orange spark.

No spark?

Hi, common thing with the mazda was the coil or the ignition amplifier going faulty, both of which are located within the distributor, the coil ususally gives the symptoms you describe, a weak spark. The coil is the most common failure aswell for your vehicle i would recommend a new one, also make sure distributor is spinning as it could just be a case of a broken timing belt.

Good luck Davelee

How many knock sensor has 1996 mazda millenia 2.3 s.And also the right side bank do not has spark is it possible of knock sensor!!!! thank You

The distributor may be broken, it's what provides the electrical current to your spark plugs. And emissionwiz is right, knock sensor has nothing to do with your spark plugs.
