Question about 2004 Honda CR-V

Door locks won't work properly.

Hello, my doors will not unlock with my keys, at first I could only unlock my car on the drivers side which was fine but now I can only unlock my car from the passenger side which is now a problem. I was locked out for about 45 min. and now I'm scared to even lock it. I don't have money to take it in so I was wondering is there a trick or simple solution to this?? please e-mail me what you think. thank you for your time. stacypowers@charter.net

This made my door lock on the passenger side easier however it still didn't solve my problem its weird it was working on the drivers side and its as if it just decided to switch sides, to now work on the passenger side... I'm still afraid to lock it up though cause I could be completely locked out. on the back and the drivers side it wont even let me insert the key in all the way. any other ideas???

I have three keys, All in good condition, I applied the graphite lube to the key not in the lock cause theres like a little shield that the lock has, that you have to use the key to push past.... Its weird its like the car will only allow you to have access to one door on purpose, at first you could get in from the drivers side only- with no problems. and now you can get in from the passenger side only. any other ideas?? Have a great weekend!..... Stacy....PS I will try more Lube though...Although I don't think thats it. Thanks Stacy

Try using a Graphite or teflon based lubricant, it works wonders for door locks. Usually available at hardware, auto stores, and lock smiths

Is the key bent or twisted?

do you have a spare key you can try?

Did you spray the lube into the lock, or apply it to the key?

It may take more than one application of lubricant, also try putting some in the edges of the key and work it in and out..

If more lube does not work, then I would say take it to a Locksmith and have him look at it for you. Would likely be cheaper than the dealer, as they would likely replace the lock set.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Opening the drivers door doesnt automatically open the passangers door

Some vehicle locking systems allow a single button press to unlock the driver's side door and require a second button press to unlock the passenger side door. Likewise, use of the key to unlock the driver's side door does not automatically unlock the passenger side.

Alarm won't turn off

the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

2000 cadillac deville driver side won't open with the key

1) Key turns but dose not unlock door. This means that the rod that goes to the back of the lock has came off. This also means that is the reason door is not unlocking with the remote as it pops the lock rod inside the door which pushes the lock open.
2) Key does not turn lock at all but works passengers side door. This means that the locks has been changed in the door, but that doesn't sound like the problem as you say the remote doesn't open the drivers side door so more than likely the rod has came off the back of the lock

Driver side door locking with remote but will not unlock, if i unlock it with key then remote will unlock all other door, if all doors are locked remote will not unlock the car. Once i manually unlock...

it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

Hello my mazda 323f 1999 isnt unlocking properly when i go to unlock it with the key the drivers door stays locked and when im in the car it locks me in

On some Mazdas, if you are unlocking the door on the passenger side with a key, it is not supposed to unlock the driver's door. The power lock system will only work from the driver's side. It is supposed to lock you in...that is the way it is designed. Check your owner's manual.

If you don't have an owner's manual, you can get one from the Mazda web site
